Dallas Morning News blog: Elizabeth Edwards, meet Carol McCain

:wow:

Yes it's only on the blog page now, but could this be the beginning of the MSM approaching McCain's adultry too?? Drop a comment or send the author an email to show your "concern" for Mr. McCain: http://dallasmorningviewsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/what-elizabeth.html

Elizabeth Edwards, meet Carol McCain

Tod Robberson

Imagine the audacity of it all. The wife takes care of the kids through a long family ordeal. Then the wife takes ill. The husband, whose public stance is that he supports moral behavior and all-American virtues, instead betrays his wife. It's appalling.

That's what they're saying about John Edwards -- and rightly so. He had the gall to have an affair while his wife was fighting cancer -- and while he was running for president.

And while we're all feeling holier than thou, maybe we should use this occasion to re-examine the past behavior of John McCain: His first wife, Carol, was beautiful enough to be a swimwear model when he married her in 1965. He went off to fight in the Vietnam war while she stayed home to raise their three children. He was captured and spent five years as a prisoner of war. When he was freed in 1973, he came home to find that his wife had been disfigured in a car wreck three years earlier. So he dumped her and married a much younger woman (who might be our next first lady).

on edit: Please note that DALLAS is in TX. HA! Take that all you TX haters! :D

11. Well, that is good. I missed that part. I just heard him talking about Black woman
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 05:46 PM by Pirate Smile
re Oprah as if her audience isn't mostly white women. It is both black, white, brown, whatever but he kept pigeon holing her appeal/show audience as black women. I thought that was really odd.

20. Right. He said how a lot of black women said hi to him after he appeared on her show but
he went on to say he didn't know that there were many additional votes she could help Barack get because he essentially already had the black women's vote. My reaction :wtf: He obviously doesn't know her show demographics.

They need to say it more clearly but, hey, it is something.

Nothing's too odious to be spun, I'm afraid.

18. Worst case scenario: republicans refuse to talk much
about this once they realize it also brings up McCain's past behavior and he's RUNNING for president.

Best case scenario: they aren't smart enough to shut up about it and it ends up hurting McCain.

And yeah, Dallas is in Texas, LOL. Where we've had more days than I can count lately of triple digit temperatures. I live in hell.

19. Dallas is getting slammed!
I'm in Austin but it's not *as* bad as what y'all are getting up there...it's only 99 today! :D

Back to McCain's mess: Once people are fully aware of his affair with Cindy, I hope they revisit the scandal with Vicki Iseman.

and too short sighted to see the implications of the paths that they so ignorantly choose.

24. did you know he LIED about his affair in his own autobio?
The Los Angeles Times did some solid investigative reporting and published a very damaging item yesterday on John McCain’s personal background, which is of course a key part of his campaign. We learned that McCain turned his back on his wife after she was seriously injured in a car accident, committed adultery, and left the mother of his children when he found a younger, wealthier woman.

Worse, we also learned that McCain didn’t tell the truth about this in his own memoir. McCain insisted that he was separated from his first wife before he began dating his second wife. That’s not true. McCain also insisted he’d been divorced for months before remarrying. That wasn’t true, either. (In fact, the LAT reported, “McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.”)

http://www.thecarpetbaggerreport.com/archives/16176.html

he also porked SEVERAL hoes while he was 'transitioning' from wifey one. was he still porking after he met Cindy, or still transitioning?

‘I thought, of course, we would live happily ever after,’ says Carol. But as a war hero, McCain was moving in ever-more elevated circles.

Through Ross Perot, he met Ronald Reagan, then Governor of California. A sympathetic Nancy Reagan took Carol under her wing.

But already the McCains’ marriage had begun to fray. ‘John started carousing and running around with women,’ said Robert Timberg.

McCain has acknowledged that he had girlfriends during this time,
without going into details......

.... Ross Perot, who paid her medical bills all those years ago, now believes that both Carol McCain and the American people have been taken in by a man who is unusually slick and cruel – even by the standards of modern politics.

‘McCain is the classic opportunist. He’s always reaching for attention and glory,’ he said.

‘After he came home, Carol walked with a limp. So he threw her over for a poster girl with big money from Arizona. And the rest is history.’

not just Cindy, but MANY others. How many?

Inquiring minds want to know!

27. I have been spreading McCain's affair
around to everyone I know hoping that they will tell people and so on. If enough of us talk about it more people will know. I think it was crappy what he did to his first wife and same goes for Edwards. I just feel sorry for Elizabeth one more shitty thing to endure as if she hasn't had enough!

instead of just saying he dumped his first wife. (I admit I didn't read the article-just what you posted).
