Oregon prosecutor accuses Kerry in ad
Friday, August 20, 2004, by NOELLE CROMBIE
http://www.oregonlive.com/search/index.ssf?/base/front_page/109300303292321.xmlSBVT TV Ad Vietnam veteran Alfred French admits relying on statements of other SBVT members, he never witnessed the events in question about Senator Kerry's Vietnam service, and he had no direct knowledge of the charges made by other SBVT members in the TV Ad against Senator Kerry.
One of the veteran accounts Mr. French relied was Larry Thurmann, who's account against Senator Kerry has already been proven fraudulent by the Washington Post and Chris Matthews of MSNBC Hardball, last week. Despite these facts, in the SBVT TV ad Mr. French says the following:
"I served with John Kerry. . . . He is lying about his record."

COMMENTS: In the full story, it indicates that Mr. French is a prosecutor. Is Mr. French asking us to believe that he does not understand the full meaning and penalties of rendering a fraudulent and malicious statement, for the specific and intent purpose of illegally affecting a U.S. Presidential election?

The Associated Press - ANDREW KRAMER - August 24, 2004
http://news.statesmanjournal.com/article.cfm?i=85607PORTLAND - Vietnam veteran Terry Kirsch fought in the streets of Saigon in 1968, was wounded twice and earned a pair of Purple Heart medals. He said his experiences led him to stand up for a fellow veteran, Sen. John Kerry, who has been criticized in television ads for exaggerating his war experiences for political gain.
On Monday, Kirsch was one of several other veterans who gathered on the Clackamas County Courthouse steps to call for one of Kerry's accusers to recant the statements that he made in a prominent attack ad. The veterans want Alfred French, a 20-year employee of the Clackamas County district attorney's office, to resign from his job for having appeared in an ad sponsored by the group Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
