Mayor in Detroit Sex Scandal Case Ordered Jailed

The mayor of Detroit, Michigan, embroiled for months in a torrid sex scandal, was placed under arrest Thursday for violating a provision of his bond forbidding him from leaving the country.

A Detroit judge ordered embattled Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick jailed for a recent unauthorized trip he made to nearby Windsor, Canada, violating the terms of his bond.

His jailing seemed certain to ramp up efforts to force his resignation, which he so far has stubbornly resisted.

"I thought I made it clear to you that this court comes first in everything," Wayne County District Court Judge Ronald Giles told the beleaguered mayor in court shortly before ordering him detained.

This is the type of stuff that will make people in MI vote for McCain. Of all the states in the country, this has to be the worst on to be a Democratic Politician.

All this over a sex scandal and lying under oath. Essentially, they have "Clintonized" Kwame Kilpatrick. Although, had he just said "it's none of your business" when they asked him, none of this would have happened.

I will never understand why politicians can't just say that. It's their personal lives; not political. We have no business in their bedrooms unless they are sleeping with us.

1. If that's true, then why didn't this matter?

The thing is though, that people in MI blame the dems because they are in power.

Elections are local, and scandals like this one do nothing but damage the reputation of the party. The fact that Kilpatrick is black only adds fuel to the fire.

I'm just glad that Kilpatrick isn't out there stumping for Obama. I'm just afraid that it would turn into another pastor-gate type fiasco.

You know what they are doing... They had the only AA reporter booted from a McCain event, and weren't shy about it.

I got my first lesson on "uppity" yesterday. I didn't know it was used as a racial slur. "uppity negroe" What they are doing is what a certain other politician did. Using race to divide without actually saying it; just implying it.

I just worry they are going to do the same with this.

3. If we lose in November is will because Obama did not handle
this problem correctly. He needs to win the support of the people who voted for the Detroit mayor. I think his best option is to ignore what happened as much as possible. The more you stir a pot of shit, the more it stinks.

4. Michigan May be Tough
Especially if Mittens is the pick *and he will be...McCain can't turn down the possibility of winning MI and the help in the west turning out the Mormon vote...see Nevada. :(

And, weirdly, Obama is only up like 9 in MA last I saw. I can't believe he's not further ahead, and maybe I got the poll wrong. But if MA is within single digits, Mittens could help there too.

I'll be damn happy if McCain doesn't pick him.

6. If we lose, it will because it was stolen again.
I honestly don't think there is much that could go wrong for Obama. Folks are beyond fed up, and it really is all over for America, if Dems don't win in Nov.!

7. As Cafferty said....
If this country elects John McCain, it deserves what it gets.

Damn it, I want my country back. Can I have it back?

(I am native american, and was told if I don't like it here, then leave.)
