ABC - Hillary still telling friends in private that she doubts that Obama can win
Edited on Thu Aug-07-08 02:26 PM by JackORoses
Will Clinton Run Again?
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5531475

This is indefensible.

Perhaps, Maddow was right and Convention shenanigans are planned.
How else do you explain the coordinated Clinton effort of the past few days?

Bill says he was falsely accused of Racism and refrains from saying that Obama is qualified.

Hillary fans the flames of her fanatics and keeps the notion of a floor fight alive by refusing to quash it.

Couldn't they just have remained in the wings until the convention?
Why have they taken these calculated actions?

18. Way to go. Can you please stop using the "f" word?
You use it quite a bit.

It's not very attractive.

58. It's not helpful when BlooInBlue uses the "f" word with Clinton on almost every post.
I think we're gonna win easily, but in 2000 every vote mattered.

Most Hillary supporters who don't support Barack won't come around, but why not promote unity in case every vote is needed?

BlooInBloo is just hateful to the CLintons.

I've noticed it TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME AND TIME

It is NOT helping Barack in the long run.

164. Well perhaps if they would stop acting like fucking assholes it would quiet down.
Sorry, but they HAVE the power to stop news like this -- but sucking it up, getting over their bitterness about their own failure to win, and getting 100% behind the democratic nominee.

There's an old army saying... you salute the rank, not the man. Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for President. They owe (yes owe) the party their full-throated, unqualified support of the Democrats pick for president.

"They" means hillary and bill, because their both responsible for this assholery.

I defended Hillary Clinton all through the primaries. I regularly spoke out against over-zealous Obama supporters (or Clinton haters) and tried to do my part to create a better tone. I wasn't perfect but I tried. When Hillary conceded I was right there to immediately open arms and praise her strength. I truly believed the best that she would totally rally around the democratic nominee for the good of the party.

But then there's all this shit. It just makes me sick. I'm sick of them, sick of their personal ambition getting in the way of the bigger picture. I've just had it. So fuck them.

179. Me too
I defended Hillary. Now she makes my blood boil. She should have quit after the Ohio/Texas primaries because it obvious then that she couldn't win. She cost Obama millions and kept McCain out of the line of fire for months. And for what? So she could tell herself she's not a quitter?

Now she's out stirring up trouble again. The woman cares about nothing but her own political power. I used to defend her when people said things like that.

180. "Salute the rank not the man" ? So you respect Bush as Prez? Cheney as VP?
What have the Clinton's done that is so bad? They have endorsed and supported O. Yet because an ABC reporter quotes an un sourced comment , you attack them? And if Hillary's "private comment" was true, not only does this not make it "private" but if it were, doesn't she have the right, like ALL American citizens to have an "opinion". As a Democrat, she is supporting Obama but now you say she can't have private "thoughts" about him?

And as for Bill. IMHO , he is a twice elected POTUS and entitled to way more respect than some have given him. And he doesn't have an obligation to take any crap from anyone.

186. I respect the office.
Bill Clinton, is entitled to many things. And if I met him I would certainly show him all the proper respect as a former President. But he's not entitled to give anything less than this full throated endorsement of the democratic nominee for president. That's his duty as a senior democrat.

If you can't see the ridiculousness of the behvaior, then there's no point talking about it.

I don't mean I'm ignoring you something.. I mean we'll just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that. I don't make a "campaign" out of trashing the clintons - this is the first thing I've said about it. So we can just move on to other topics.

36. She needs to tell the DNC not to put her name in for nomination.
She needs to release her delegates and instruct them to vote for Obama. That would stop it immediately.

Until that happens, I wonder about her intentions. When it does happen, I'll be able to donate to retire her campaign debt after the GE.

maybe the DNC and the campaign staff or our nominee may know a little more than ANYONE here at DU what will "stop it immediately". The Obama campaign and the DNC are discussing the matter with Senator Clinton. They know what "needs" to be done. I will leave it up to their good judgment.

174. The point is that IF Obama and the DNC would prefer Hillary
to take her name out of the floor vote and that she release her delegates, AND if Hillary does not do that, THEN there is nothing that either Obama or the DNC can do about it.

At this point we have no idea what is going on. Personally I prefer that she do a press release that clears the matter up immediately.

I don't like all this doubt.

182. MY point is that the campaign and the DNC
most likely know that this is the ONLY way to be sure that some nut jobs don't cause a problem.

Senator Clinton does not have a magic wand filled with Hillary Dust that she can wave if people have not followed her lead. She cannot "control" people anymore than ANY of us can. Particularly people who may not be as mature as others. and the DNC can't force them off the floor, and still claim to be better than Republicans, who demand lock step obedience.

I'm sure that the "roll call" with her name in nomination, if that is done, will not be done in prime time, and will be as low key as it can be, but still give the more ardent a feeling that she has now been given some respect, and no dissension will be seen in prime time TV, for use by the Republicans. THAT is what is likely being discussed behind the scenes.

It will satisfy the handful of upset delegates, and it will make Democrats in general look great, and Senator Obama specifically look extremely presidential.

And as a bonus, we will not have any kind of a repeat of Chicago!

Listen...Trust Senator Obama. He and his staff have not done badly so far, wouldn't you say?

up my mind that there's anything underhanded going on. Far from it, as a matter of fact.

My most fervent wish is that everyone benefits from however this plays out. If it's handled correctly, we'll have a stronger ticket and a stronger party for it. There is still some healing to be done and hopefully our convention will be an event that brings us all together into a wonderful celebration. We democrats have earned it after what the republicans have done to us from 1992 through today.

The news that Bill is going to speak at the convention is wonderful. Of course, we knew he would. But it's nice to have that information out there for all to see.

Peace. :)

BTW, I like debating with you. We never seem to get too annoyed with each other and that's a good thing. MarrahG is like that, too.

207. Are they going to do a roll call for every other nominee as well?
I'm sorry I'm sick of the expectation that she get special treatment because she is a woman.

The whole purpose of the woman's movement was to be treated equally. There were other candidates that got delegates and people were also supporting, do those people's votes not count as much as Hillary's votes? She did not get enough votes to win, if she did THEN it would be worth hearing her name.

She needs to sit the fuck down and support the candidate, Peroid.

for all of the other candidates as well....not nominees....there is only ONE nominee.

The other candidates did not, along with Senator Obama, make history the way she has. The others didn't win 18,000,000 votes, roughly 1/2 of the popular votes cast.

She is, along with Senator Obama, attempting to achieve catharsis. This is America, and we are Democrats. She cannot simply ban the more vocal delegates from the convention after they have been legally chosen as delegates. Revoking credentials is much more complicated than that.

Do you want to see a disrupted convention, or do you want to win in November and watch President Obama be sworn in on January 20, 2009? If it is the latter, which I suspect it is, then perhaps you need to TRUST our candidate to do the right thing. I do. He will end smelling like a rose from this.

237. Yes I should have said candidate in the Subject line...
Either way stop the special treatment...she still lost whether historic or not. Edwards made history by being number X candidate that lost as well. (History is - All events that are remembered and preserved in some authentic form constitute the historical record.)

The only person I have heard call for catharsis is Hillary Clinton, Obama has said we do not need it. The process should move forward with the nominee.

Yes this is America but I am not a Democrat..I am an independent who believes in the Democratic nominee and working hard to get him elected. I am sick of seeing the Clintons trying to take the stage and hurt the nominee. It turns me off them even more. She is hurting her own future chances. Maybe the Clintons should stop and see what this is doing to hurt the Democratic party even past this election because it surely is...

194. Why? Her race was as historic as the nominees and she should be acknowledged.
She has almost as many delegates and all the "boys" from Teddy K to the other contenders have had their names in nomination. Why should the only woman to come this close not be placed in nomination? Would some feel the same if it were Obama? Would it be being said that the first major AA candidate shouldn't be placed in nomination? I doubt it.

I am a woman and she does not deserve special treatment over the other candidates. She lost and should do the same as any male candidate this year and in past elections. I would expect Obama to do the same if he had lost. This is not about her....

249. Traditionally all the candidates with delegates were placed in nomination. I grew up listening to
both conventions. My family was involved with politics. There is no reason to violate the nominating tradition, especially in a race as "close" as this one. Teddy K had his name placed in nomination with 100 delegates! Are you suggesting that she be discriminated against because she is a woman? I don't think that it is just that she is a woman that deserves the traditional recognition but the fact that she deserves it as much and certainly "more" in terms of "numbers" than her male predecessors.

It is very odd that many feel that "special treatment "(and not being not placed in nomination or having a roll call vote would not be "special" but rather discriminatory) should not be given to Hillary for being a woman are many times the same folks who demand special treatment for Obama being the first AA nominee. The point is, both gender and race are conditions of birth which neither person controlled, and neither factor can be completely ignored. In a perfect world, they should be, but in this season of firsts, they are not.And I do not believe it is more important to be an AA male than it is a woman.

Hillary Clinton was a Presidential Candidate who garnered a substantial number of Delegates and should be treated as such. She is entitled to that recognition at the very least.

263. Wait, what demands for special treatment for Obama
being the first AA nominee?
I think the special treatment is for just being the nominee.

In any case Kennedy/Carter is a very bad example to bring up. The show of division further weakened Carter's image and you know that didn't go so well for the country.

As shown in the clip of her with supporters when she said after the catharsis then they unify behind Obama one of her supporters said loudly "That's not how it works".
To honor her and show respect would be wonderful...but many want to use it to show disrespect and opposition to Obama.

They'll work out what to do, it's not in our hands

The best way for Obama is to be defeated is for Dems to be divided. I say keep your eye on the ball: McCain is the enemy. Obama has bested McCain in the last few days so ABC decides to go after Obama by trying to split the Dem vote. That's the only way McCain can win.

IF you want Obama to win, don't get suckered in by the MSM.

Simply call anyone who disagrees with you a "hater" and mentally ill.

The Clintons have given people tons of reason to be angry with them this year, and done really nothing of substance to make things better. Instead, they've been sitting around expecting others to cater to them in order to fix the damage the Clintons did in the first place. I used to be a huge fan of the Clintons, Bill particularly, and even defended Hillary on the war vote. You can bet I'm never going to do that again.

Everybody except the die-hard lunatic Clinton supporters knows that they waged a dirty, nasty, divisive campaign, and they still haven't really done anything other than a few token gestures to try and fix it. On the contrary, they seem to be digging in their heels.

Any yes, like the freepers, the die-hards like to label any kind of criticism as "hate" simply because it minimizes the critic.

65. That's BULL SHIT, you need to wake up and see reality
it's really pathetic to see people continued to be fooled by these Country hucksters. They are not good people. Bill could come out and publicly endorse Obama and say he is ready. He hasn't! Hillary could release her delegates and say she doesn't want anything but unity, but she hasn't. These are two very self centered narcissistic people that don't care about anyone other than themselves.

What does Bill Richardson have to do with the OPs repetition of the latest nameless, sourceless gossip about the Clintons? When all else fails and you are losing an argument, you drag other people and other issues into it to muddy it up.

Why don't you just admit that you are guilty of repeating baseless rumors and leave it at that. Don't drag Bill Richardson into it.

And by the way, even if info is triple-source from our MSM, there's still a reasonable chance that's it erroneous. Case in point: Those West Virginia miners in February, 2006. MSM had us believeing that only one miner died when in fact only one miner survived.

101. It was Bill Richardson who originally explained that they were telling people he couldn't win.
He explained how they'd hammered him with that when he told them he was endorsing Obama. So don't act like it's something they would never say. They said it before and it's no surprise that they still are, when you consider that they apparently still feel they didn't do anything wrong. And don't pretend like the media is magically accurate whenever it says something you agree with, but totally wrong if you don't like the content.

as those that can't see. And a lot of Hillary supporters can't see a thing where the Clintons are concerned. Most political reporting works by "unnamed sources", it's true for every single mainstream media outlet, demanding names of sources because you don't like what's being said in a MSM outlet shows a stunning lack of knowledge of how media and the campaigns work hand in hand to get their talking points out there yet still claim plausable deniability, etc.. Furthermore, arguing with the source doesn't change the fact that these leaks happen for a reason--the candidate wants them out there. I think the Clintons desperately want to believe they still have some chance or at best, hope for 2012.

52. The MSM loves to stir up shit for Dems, but guess what?
The Clintons could put the kibosh on this with some pretty definitive statements.

If they wanted to. And therein lies the problem - there's a lot of disagreement about how much they really want to clear this up and support Obama.

But why should there be any surprise that we don't know what to think when we recall some of Hillary's speech the night Obama clinched the nomination?

"I'm not going to make any decisions tonight"

Terry McAuliffe: "The next President of the United States"

"18 million people voted for our campaign"

"We won more electoral votes" I'm still very :wtf: about that

"Our voices must be heard" - did she think someone was gagging her voters?

So I'm not going to let anyone berate me for daring to think that the Clintons might not be doing ALL they can do to show their support for the Democratic nominee.

He'll call the play on everything they do:

John E. Bryson, Director since 2000, Mr. Bryson, 63, has served as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, an electric utility, since 1990. He is also a director of The Boeing Company and a director/trustee for three funds in the Western Asset funds complex. (Forbes, compensation lists, online.)

http://www.muckety.com/John-E-Bryson/792.muckety

National Petrolium Council
Edison International
W.M. Keck Foundation

Between the Boeing Connection, Petrolium Council, and Edison International, he's not looking out for middle class taxpayers. He's as big and ugly as big business gets.

This is how/why the media controls the message. The media are in business for themselves and don't care one wit about truth or facts or "news." Media is now the propaganda machine of international business, and Hillary knows it.

These people are not going to roll over and die because Obama "won" the election. The election is irrelevant to them. They're not entirely american, anymore.

56. I'm not a Hillary fan, but this story is crap...

There's some genuine reason to be irked at Bill for his response about whether Obama is ready to be president -- if he had made the same response about his wife, there would be musings that a divorce is imminent.

But Hillary is walking a tightrope. She needs to keep her supporters happy for her own political future, she wants to thank them, and she's understandably flattered that they're so adamant on her behalf.

Her interests and Obamas are completely the same, no matter what motivations you might ascribe to them. Hillary has to be seen as a strong advocate for Obama -- if she doesn't do that and he loses, her lack of support would quash any chance she had for a 2012 White House bid.

The media is, as usual, trying to create a soap opera plot where none exists. Well... Almost none. I think Bill will eventually get out of his funk, but it's clear that he's still having trouble accepting things.

I've given Hillary quite a bit of flak, but I think she's being given a bad rap on this issue. Even though I don't trust her, it just makes no sense at all for her to make any moves that could even be perceived as undermining Obama. She's smart, she knows that, and this is just media hype.

We should get a bit of a letup from this crap for a while, as all the media soap opera writers work on adjectives for background stories to describe the trials and tribulations suffered by Olympic competitors.

104. Okay, then I think you're letting your contempt affect your judgment...

Hillary can never become President if there's any hint that she isn't fully supporting Obama. If she gets caught sighing during one of his speeches and he loses, she's toast in 2012. She needs his supporters just like he needs hers.

So nothing about her torpedoing him makes sense. She may want to, but she knows darned well that she can't -- so she won't.

Bill is more petulant, so he's having a harder time accepting that reality. I think he'll come around, possibly after Hillary whacks him on the head a few times.

184. Look at your reaction right now...

She'd already have a problem getting your vote, wouldn't she? If it became a popular perception that she had actively tried to undermine Obama, she wouldn't even be able to run in 2012. She knows it.

I hope you understand that I'm not arguing that she wouldn't undermine him based on principles, because we obviously agree that principles would not get in her way. I think she wouldn't want to be perceived as undermining him because it's not in her political interests to do it.

My bet is, after this round of media coverage, you'll see her take a step back soon. I seriously doubt she'll accept any nomination... Aside from the negative press it would get her, it would highlight the sizable number of defections among her supporters. If she's not a nominee, she can still hang onto the mantra that she got an impressive number of delegates for someone who wasn't nominated.

72. With all due respect to Hillary -
and I mean that sincerely regardless of what some of you might think -- I don't totally understand why she thinks SHE could win.

A few years ago I heard a story that those in Dem circles were concerned about her probable entry into the presidential race because her strong negatives with the Reps would light the fire under many people to get to the polls to vote AGAINST her.

At the time, I felt we'd deal with that when we came to it, and I was hoping she WOULD run and prove them wrong.

But it's a valid concern. And her opinion about Obama might be valid, too -- I'm sure there will be plenty spurred to vote against HIM, but I don't see where she thinks this wouldn't be a problem if she were the nominee.

to take the blue pill offered by the neocon press machine.

Always a strong argument to cite a story on network television as being believable. If they say Obama bad, they are nasty neocons. If they say Hillary bad, they are crusading journalists. ABC taps your patella and you jump.

Crimineny. Just how gullible can we get? How long will we keep doing the republican's job for them? If you are such sour winners, I hate to think what kind of loser you would be. Keep doing Rove's work for him by keeping the party divided, and we might get to see in November.

205. How gullible can you get?
That's a good question. I don't think we have reached the extent of the media's ability to get you to swallow yet. They manufactured a load and sold it with underarm deodorant and some time shares in Reno. We can't have a united party or we might actually win an election, so we get trolls baiting us to stir up reruns of the primaries, and because we so like a good grudge, we just plop down with some popcorn and a diet pepsi and cheer for our respective teams. Screw the country. Just so we get to snark on Hillary or bitch about Barack. That's so much more fun than actually doing something that would actually help us win. You know, all that coming together and moving forward stuff that Obama says we should do. Why listen to the man? We support him. Just not his message.

The point is that just because ABC says it's so doesn't mean it's so. Twisting and editing and rewrites are their stock in trade. But you have such a wad about the Clintons that you want to believe even the mainstream media. Do you also take them at their word when they talk about how out of touch and elitist Obama is? That is crap, too. A little consistency would be nice.

of logic. They use really snappy comebacks like "come back later".

Sorry, you don't get to say when someone gets to come or go.

You obviously have more desire to get on with a Clinton vendetta than any real desire to get Obama elected. So you just go on and keep trying to stop any progress towards getting the party together. But you really must stop trying to convince us that you have any belief in Obama since you so clearly don't want to act in ways that match his message. This is supposed to be us doing politics a new way. We are told that this is the party of inclusion and acceptance and unity. But, you stick with your path. MSM will be there to help you.

243. Now that’s classic rove.
Accuse the other guy of doing what you do. You say I attack you after you tell me to go away until I progress some more (such a clever play on my signature). You call me gullible because I am so smitten with the Clintons that I don’t know enough to be a big old Obama fan. Then you tell me to defend them from a story that I have already said I don’t believe.

All of my statements stand. We have an election to win and the nasty bitterness that so many here keep throwing up is doing the republican’s job for them. You (this time the pronoun is singular) cite a silly story from a disreputable source as “proof” that Hillary is a poopy head. All your gang jump in to denounce her. It’s like you miss the primary. Beating mccain isn’t as much fun for you. You relished your past win and want to wallow in it some more. It reminds me of the small town high school football heroes. At 30 they still hang around the sidelines on Friday nights, looking for the thrill of their youth. They don’t move on.

Those of us who supported Clintons (some of us after others dropped out) and have moved on to try to help get Barack into the White House have grown up. We have a life in the here and now, fighting the republicans. But DU keeps getting battered with the primary warriors, still aching for the rush of the infighting and their “victory”.

As you cruise the mainstream media and blogways, searching for dirt on the Clintons, how about finding something constructive to post like problems with a possible mccain administration or the virtues of following Obama’s advice to move on and start embracing a new politics. I know it won’t give you the gut thrill of a Hillary jab, but it might just be a little more productive.

244. Yep. That's what the media have told you.
So it must be true. Of course, no Democrat would have thought that four years ago. Back then, he was the president who balanced the budget, put people to work, and tried to get past the republican congress to stop the terrorists from coming here. But that was before the MSM campaign to keep Hillary from getting the nomination. There is not one whit, one feather, one measurable trace of difference between Hillary and Barack. But we got fed a constant stream of polluted air waives telling us otherwise. Team spirit and the cult of personality took over and we had a bully time spitting and hissing. Rove just sat and giggled. The primaries are over, but some team cheerleaders miss the limelight and just must return to the primary wars for one more gut pleasing jab. Enjoy the carnage. The only thing it does is hurt the party and hurt the chances we have to take over the white house. Obama knows this. He has said that this must stop. But those who praise his name ignore his message. People have let the republicans turn the Clintons into bogey men. They are gifted politicians with several years doing the dirty work of government. In twenty years, we can hope that Obama is still as effective and as committed to the good of the people. He already has dirt on his hands, dirt that comes with the job. If you see great differences in these people, you are not seeing well.

137. Another concerted effort....
by Obama fans(?)to further drive a wedge between Democratic voters.

" ABC - Hillary still telling friends in private that she doubts that Obama can win":eyes: (you'd expect higher standards from Democrats)

When this juvenile crap starts, and Clinton haters excercise their priority of bashing them over any desire to see Obama elected, one has to wonder what their goals actually are. Either too stupid to realize that when they go on one of their hate sprees, start calling names, and generally saying "fuck you", they are saying "fuck you" to eighteen million democrats. I suspect they know this, and their goal is not in the best interest of the Democratic Party, or of Obama's best interests. It sounds like the Bizarro World version of PUMA, or AMUP if you will. I understand that this is an addiction, probably more satisfying than a twenty-year heroin user's, and I also realize that if Clinton is not the vp choice, the addiction will not go away. I propose doing us both a favor. Choose HRC for the vp spot, which will not only satisfy my desire to see her as part of the ticket, but will provide quality dope for the hate addicts. No more second rate junk projecting hate through surrogate groups like PUMA. The source of the addiction will be available 24-7, and it won't even have to be cut. Funny how haters rail against groups like PUMA, while every day of their lives, they provide indisputable proof that if the results had been different, PUMA would look like a girl scout troop by comparison. Their actions and words are illogical in the scheme of things, but I reiterate, I'm not at all sure it's not planned that way. Go Obama, Go Clinton, Go whoever the vp is. That's being a democrat, and having confidence in our nominee. Something that is woefully lacking among this particular group. Try doing something useful for a change. You might like it. Thanks.

I think the M$M/pukes are revving up OPERATION CHAOS/PUMA.

M$M doesn't want unity because a fucked up dem convention will be more exciting. As a result they are digging for dirt on Clintons and distorting.

Freepers are predicting "race riots" and blood in the streets surrounding our convention so that Hillary can run in 2012. They hate Obama and Clinton a great deal, almost as much as our "liberal agenda". Isn't it their wet dream for us to fight each other and go into the convention in a huff?

I think that Obama will squash all of this by choosing Hillary as VP at the convention. Everyone needs to chill out and let Obama set the tone. If Obama says that the Clintons are against him then I might believe it.

The second link is to download.com and I have no interest in clicking on it; and based on the poster's description, it seems to be a video of Obama saying America is not good, or something.

The silver lining in this story is that because the Clintons are acting like such complete assholes, Obama will feel no obligation to include them in his administration, in any capacity. God knows, he probably will anyway but he won't be obligated.

If they continue this after the convention it will tell me that there is more to their shenanigans than personal ego and hurt pride - that they have heavy weights bearing down of Them. the corporate world must not be so pleased with them - them having it pretty well aced before the primaries even started - and how they blew it so shockingly dismally.

Cue home video of Hillary and 15 supporters on Fox News.

255. Do you really believe ABC?
I doubt there are many Dems who believe this nonsense. You should reconsider.

256. Right, ABC and Time magazine and Bill Richardson are just liars.
What would be their motive for making this up?

257. To divide Dems
it seems fairly simple. There's no benefit to Obama in spreading these kinds of rumors and creating division within the party so late in the campaign season.

It also keeps Dems and voters from focusing on issues - the most important thing of all. Educating voters on the benefits of electing Obama and Dems to other elective office is really important as we're approaching the time when the average voters is beginning to pay attention to the election.

Now is the time to focus on party unity and educating voters.

258. I have no doubt she's still saying this, and I'm glad they're reporting it.
Because it knocks her out of the VP running. With her in the VP slot we'd have no chance at all, so ABC is doing us a favor.

259. You are aware that both Clintons used this argument overtly with swing voters, right?
It's been widely reported in the past. The only new news here is that she's STILL saying it.

Its time to stop the Clinton bashing and get on board.

262. We're asking that the CLINTONS get on board. Badmouthing our nominee is very poor form.
And quoting them is not "bashing" them. If you don't like what they have to say, you shouldn't support them.
