I'm a Virginian and I think Tim Kaine should not be VP

He has taken almost every position on every issue there is. He is best suited to govern Virginia and end out his term. And let me tell you, one of the only reasons he is there is because Mark Warner stumped for him and his opponent pissed people off with his shameful death penalty ads. Tim Kaine would be a very very weak VP nominee. I understand Obama liking people who show loyalty to him early, but no, this would be a very bad idea for Obama. Yes he can speak Spanish, yes he is Catholic. But guess what, the first news story we'd hear about him as VP is how the Catholic Church denies him communion or whatever they do, because he supports Roe v. Wade (in some cases). I also don't think they really look good together or like a strong force to take the White House. And he just plain doesn't have the experience necessary. Mayor of Richmond, lt. governor at one point, and a couple years as governor just isn't enough executive experience.

And Bayh... I really don't think Obama would give up a Democratic Senate seat to Republicans. And Biden goes against his message of change. These choices being floated around just aren't cutting it IMO. And from hearing from Chuck Todd that he has heard we "won't be surprised" according to Obama insiders, I'm a little worried. Now, this could all be a head fake and a dark horse will appear. It's hard to tell what Obama camp is up to.

2. I was a Virginian, and I think Tim Kaine
should remain in Virginia. :)

IMHO, he really doesn't add that much pizazz to the ticket. Could be that Obama will continue his usual pattern of surprises and we have not clue who his VP is -- we're all just practicing the giant circle jerk with the rest of the media whores.

3. Can we have your next U.S. Senator then? ...I'd prefer Mark Warner!
.
.

I know he has the senate nomination pretty much locked up, but he would be a seriously stellar pick.

4. Kaine should be Veep IF that is who Obama selects.
That's all I will say.

Obama is smart. He'll make a great decision, and we will all support his decision and uplift the Veep Nominee. OK?

5. Sounds like a plan to me Frenchie =^..^=

But... .... you know how your pals at DU are.

No matter who he selects, they'll be bitchin' and moanin' by some.

Until I'm guessing the first time our Veep debates their Veep.

Then the skies will part, the sun will come out, and DU'ers will come together for 90 whole minutes..

6. I hope that is not the case, in terms of the bitching......
it really is getting boring to me.

Here we have a perfectly flawed Republican Opponent to go after, and like the media, we keep giving him a pass and pouncing on our own as though they are the enemy. At some point, we have to learn. Jeeze!

7. Obama people are saying we "won't be surprised" so who is it going to be???
Kain, Bayh, Biden seem to top the shortlists. I am really curious who Obama picks.

9. I'm a Minnesotan and I saw Tim Kaine
on Charlie Rose and was very impressed. I was taken by his view that this is the most important election since 1932. I agree.

He seems very smart, very genuine and totally in tune with Obama's message and vision for our country. I can see why Obama would give him serious consideration.

I've also read on-line that the Catholic bishops in his area are considered 'moderate' on reproductive issues in relation to the state. And that he shouldn't have the 'communion problem' that some, like Gov Sebelius, have encountered.

Not to compare the men, but FDR, another first term governor, was considered an average to mediocre governor because he had followed an unusually successful governor, Al Smith.
