The main stream media is really easy to figure out.
They simply like whoever is ahead.

They loved Rudy when he was ahead. Loved him. Then they loved Huckabee when he won a few.

When Hillary was ahead last year, they loved her. Talked all about her. She was the presumptive nominee in their eyes.

When Obama passed her, they became enamoured with him.

Hillary pulled up close and they pulled for her again.

Then it became O v. McCain. They loved O because he was ahead-consistently. He beat McCain everywhere. He had a better campaign. He went to Europe. McCain looked tired, bumbling all around. Couldn't get things right.

Now, McCain has pulled up even and they love him again. It will be this way as long as McCain is ahead either slightly or by a larger margin. O can't get anything right.

Obama needs to freakin' KNOCK HIS STUPID BLOCK OFF if he wants to recapture the media's love.

It is just the way it is. Clean his clock. McCain will own him until he does so.

3. Exactly backwards, they want to tear down who ever is leading,
make a false horse race. Watch. Now that they have deemed mcLame "even", they will rip on the old man.

8. Not even backwards ...
Their marching orders are CLEAR ...

Cover the Rs warts, pump the R up to be stronger and more patriotic ...
Marginalize the D in any possible way ...

Sorry, but they have been systematically tearing BO down since he was clearly going to win the nomination ... They actually OVERHYPED him when Hill was the presumptive nominee ... It wasn't until it was fairly clear that Obama was going to beat her that they allowed her to be recast the "hero of the middle class" ...

IMO, they took a break off during his oversees trip, cause he just nailed it so spectacularly, to pump him up a BIT, but before and after they have been chewing him up to drag him down as much as possible, setting up the hope to they can Pastorgate him in some way one or two more times to get McCain past him at the finish line ...

4. I think its the exact opposite...
the media roots for the underdog...which is why they are always unquestioningly rapid for McCain...

The media wants it to be close...they dont want a blowout...

11. GE (defense contractor) owns NBC; Disney (family values) owns ABC;
CBS - Sumner Redstone, good buddies with Bush - runs Dan Rather out of town ...

and then, of course, Rupert Murdoch ...

And then ...

Clear Channel, owned by the guy who bailed George W. Bush out of his baseball team so that Dumbya wouldn't have any political "conflicts of interest" ... runs Rush Limbaugh and his clones all over the world ...

many AM stations are run by "religious groups" ...

Scaife, financier of the Arkansas hit squad on Clinton, owns several Newspaper outlets ...

Coors family ...

Heritage Foundation ...

Um ... exactly when did BARACK HUSSEIN OSAMA, er, Obama receive all that "love" from the media? When the media was screaming about Jeremiah Wright (ostensibly, through the "Clinton campaign"?)? or any of the other "surrogates"?

Somehow, I don't see the media "loving" Barack ... the fact that Obama didn't fuck up his European trip was actually a huge disappointment for the media ... they were looking for a 2008 "DEAN SCREAM" ...

12. They want a horse rase. They want to wring their hands and get viewers to turn in
but also not upset their corporate bosses OR major shareholders/stakeholders. It is a business after all and the competition is minimal.

13. The media does its best to manipulate the results, not simply follow them......

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

This may be the last chance baring any media reform that we can possibly beat them at their game.

14. What planet do you live on?
Edited on Tue Aug-05-08 07:24 PM by TOJ
The media loves REPUBLICANS. Moderate ones, fascist ones, especially female ones and black ones, old ones, young ones, stupid ones, smart ones, funny ones, and psychopaths. Basically anyone who is willing to either whore for the GOP or bash Dems is loved by the media.

We really need to get past this "they'll be for Obama when things change a little bit". They won't.

Edit: At what point after he won the nomination did big media "love Obama"?!?!?

:wtf:
