That's why they're having their little Spectacular, Spectacular! on the House floor.

First the GOP bitched when Nancy Pelosi dared suggest they work five days of the week. They couldn't whine loud enough about being forced to work so much and now they want to stay in Washington in August?

Congress is supposed to go home to their constituents in August to hear their concerns and take their punches.

Americans have been anxiously awaiting this time and now the GOP want to hide out in Washington?

It seems to me the GOP are nothing but Chickenshits.

1. It's an election year thing. They think grandstanding will make
them look like they want to "get things done" when this is their own damn fault.

2. Yeah, but...
...I don't see the GOP-controlled media saying that the GOP is hiding from their constituents.

Maybe we can help them along?

5. We have to start a buzz, then maybe send postcards to the House...
...asking them why they're hiding!

First on DU, then through email to our friends, get the ball rolling, wait a day (or a few hours) then contact media "friendlies" (not complete GOP-toadies).

Finally, make sure we send out the postcards (or whatever) before they leave town.

about theater versus sound policy and it might just make a fine ad to be distributed to many local markets. You know, insert appropriate incumbent's face here, and add message for Obama and/or current contender for our side.

6. Hell, the musical Chicago, has a perfect song: "Give 'em the old Razzle-dazzle"...
