Hardball pundits making excuses as usual
Now they are saying that John McCain probably did not know his attacks against Barack were not true. They said he travels so much that it is impossible for him to follow everything Barack says and does. It is the big bad people that work for him that fed him the lies. John McCain does not like to attack. Bullshit!

20. and that's exactly what they'll do when Obama starts going 'negative' by
calling McCain on his myriad depredations against the truth, just for starters

2. I know.
According to them, McSame doesn’t like going negative, it’s his mean campaign’s fault. They are misleading him and lying about what Barack has said and done to get him to sign on to these unfair attacks. If poor widdle McSame knew the truth, he wouldn’t condone these ads. Gah. If McSame is so easily misled by his own people, imagine what would happen if he were president.

14. And we all know THAT wouldn't be a problem if he were in the White House
would it? After all who needs sound advice on the economy, on military affairs, on diplomatic efforts? :sarcasm:

4. so, he truly is senile?
You mean, he is so incompetent he doesn't know how to lead his staff? If he can't control his staff then we are left with another Bush-like creature at the helm. Sorry, we need a leader.

5. Please--the gleam in his eye, his snarly grin, his utter contempt for Obama
when he attacks him is evident. These pundits just don't want to let their image of "the Good McCain" go.

10. MSNBC (Barnicle) says: Joe Biden should be VP
"quintessential insider" according to Barnicle. Also born in Scranton, PA, inaugurated US Senate 1973.

13. I love Biden but there are issues with him as VP
I really do not know what Obama is going to do... or SHOULD do about this VP pick. I'd love to see Biden out there but his age, insiderness, and ability to be sort of outrageous could hinder Obama or maybe it would complement him.

12. That was actually pretty damning stuff. Sort of saying he has no idea what is going on!!!
Do you want to elect a guy who is being bullied by his campaign and is oblivious to the reality around him. if that sort of meme gets out about McClown he is toast.

16. Well, If McCain Paid Attention, He'd Have To Condemn His Own Staff To H*&L.
The 2008 General Election shows that McCain is more than willing to associate with those whom he said have "a special place in hell" reserved for them due to their actions in the 2000 GOP primaries. This article in the Nation discussion John McCain's willingness to embrace those who attacked him and his family. I am sure the GOP will get this spun as a strength in that John McCai was willing to swallow his ego, and deal with those he had so strongly condemned.

Rove invented a uniquely injurious fiction for his operatives to circulate via a phony poll. Voters were asked, "Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain...if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?" This was no random slur. McCain was at the time campaigning with his dark-skinned daughter, Bridget, adopted from Bangladesh.

It worked. Owing largely to the Rove-orchestrated whispering campaign, Bush prevailed in South Carolina and secured the Republican nomination. The rest is history--specifically the tragic and blighted history of our young century. It worked in another way as well. Too shaken to defend himself, McCain emerged from the bruising episode less maverick reformer and more Manchurian candidate.

The former crusader against the Republican establishment has since turned into a Bush-hugging, business-as-usual politician who has backed down from many positions that set him apart from conventional conservatives. Before, McCain supported the separation of church and state; now he wants a Christian in the White House. The confederate flag, which he once considered an offensive symbol, no longer troubles him. And he has come to believe that tax cuts are a good idea.

I don't want to say that McCain sold his soul to the devil, since I believe that religious metaphors have no place in politics. But consider this: shortly after losing the 2000 election, McCain told an interviewer that there must be "a special place in hell" reserved for the rumormongers. "

17. I call bullshit! McCain already said he was proud of the ads
and if he doesn't even know what is going on in reference to the respective campaigns, how can he be competent enough to be President? He's acting like Reagan was after Reagan's Alzheimer started to show some real effects.

Keep this guy away from the White House!
