McBatShitCrazy: 'We Have to Drill Here and Drill Now'
Edited on Mon Aug-04-08 03:28 PM by Truth Hurts A Lot
"...And anybody who says we can achieve energy independence without using and increasing these existing energy resources either doesn't have the experience to understand the challenge we face or isn't giving the American people some straight talk."

McShame's either a flat out liar or doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. I hope Obama nails him on this.

2. It sounds like McCain is unprepared.
He has no idea what's going on with technology.

3. Good one. I really really hope some surrogates start asking why he made
that statement. He's behind the times. He doesn't understand technology. He's unprepared... and confused!

4. Then why didn't McCain vote for drilling then?
Actual voting record:
http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=532...

How he votes when he decides to show up for work:

NO: Energy Policy Act of 2005, 07/29/2005
NO: Reduction in Dependence on Foreign Oil 06/16/2005
NO: Environmental Effects Caused by Ethanol Amendment 06/14/2005

McCain couldn't be bothered to vote on the most recent bills...

Didn't vote: Alternative Energy Tax Incentives, 06/17/2008
Didn't vote: Amendment on Certain Energy-Related Programs, Including the Development of Oil Shale and Offshore Natural Gas, 03/13/2008
Didn't vote: Energy Act of 2007, 12/13/2007
Didn't vote: Offshore Drilling in Virginia, 06/14/2007
Didn't vote: Clean Energy Achievement Criteria, 06/14/2007

5. My take is that he is getting a lot of pressure to get that offshore drilling...
approved. There has to be a lot of money floating around out there from big oil.

I still say he won't make it to the election. Someone else is waiting to take over.

6. EXCEPT
We won't drill here NOW (that won't happen for at least a few years out) and whatever we get out of it won't necessarily benefit us HERE (or benefit us much for that matter).

Repeat often: The ONLY individuals whom will definitely benefit in both the short term and especially long term from more drilling here and elsewhere are the oil and gas companies!!!!
