The Kerry campaign would love to choose who goes on what show, but they don't get to do that any more than they get to choose what goes in what newspaper.

Editors decide what goes in newspapers. Producers decide who goes on TV shows.

News Corp owns Fox, GE/Microsoft own MSNBC, AOL/Time Warner owns CNN. These corporations run these businesses to serve their narrow corporate interests. Fairness, or an obligation to inform the public, does not enter into the equation.

then you must believe that these people are actually republican plants. If a weak Democrat appears on a show there are only two possibilities. Either he/she is actively trying to work against the Kerry campaign or the person is simply unprepared. If it's the former and there is actually a whole network of Democrats and Kerry surrogates who intentionally sabotage the campaign by making weak arguments on TV then we are truly screwed and I have no idea what the solution is. But if these people are actually commited Democrats and they want to support Kerry, see him win, and appear intelligent and prepared when they are seen on TV, then the solution is fairly simple. Coordinate the arguments, craft simple "talking points," and coach the allies who are scheduled to appear on TV. How hard can that be?

they had some dude on Anderson Cooper debating a Bush guy regarding the Smear Boys and 527's... The guy was weak as shit! The bush guy was slamming the 527's and the JK guy was saying, well, errr yeah they should have tighter restrictions... He even offered up that Kerry disapproved of the MoveOn Hitler ad.... FUCK...It was never a MOVEON AD God Damn it.... Why couldn't the guy defend MoveOn and say that the two groups pale in comparison! One is truthful and the other is a smear!
