Republicans have already fixed Florida
Funny how Obama is "leading" there but McCain is not airing any ads there. Could it be because he already knows he will win Florida? Has Gov. Crist already "fixed" it for him. I heard they have new machines in Florida. What kind of machines will they have?

1. I think McCain is taking Florida for granted, which may backfire.
I think we contend for Florida and have a chance to win it.

I don't think Charlie Crist is even human. I'm pretty convinced that he and Romney are both alien plants.

7. I've met alien life forms from many galaxies
And none of them looked like Charlie Crist. I did see a lot of people similar to Romney on a planet called Kolob though.

8. I was afraid of that. Which makes our mission that much more urgent.
LOL.

Crist and his recent marriage and the creepy politics that Florida tends to offer.

12. What recent marriage?
I think he just got engaged.

He's been engaged five times - or so I heard recently.

13. Maybe it was an engagement. Marriage. Engagement. Surgical implant of
the GOP automaton chip. Something like that.

4. Chuck Todd told of their campaign strategy
They are letting Obama blow 5 million (which he has) to be like 2 points ahead BUT McCain's base is the "snow birds" who are not there right now. Obama could be 4,000% ahead of McCain come Oct. and FL will magically be a McCain victory. They shouldn't bother having elections there and just let organize crime openly run the government!

5. Are those snowbirds registered to vote in FL or in their home states, though?
The "season" usually gets cranking after Thanksgiving for snowbirds, doesn't it? Say, December or so through April or so?

10. I heard that too, and its bull shit..
#1. Snow birds are usually registered to their "home" state, not the "visiting" state.
#2. They don't come down until after the Holidays normally.
#3. They aren't coming like they used to. Hurricanes and gas prices and all that good stuff have kept them from buying and travelling.

So, Todd is wrong. McCain doesn't have the money to run commercials all day and all night. I expect that the southern part of FL will run out of ballots. There are always problems with the minority vote in Miami (even though the majority of Miami is miniority. I think though, that if we register enough people and work hard, it will be too hard for them to steal.

for McCain and Crist if Obama were to choose Bill Richardson, say, as his vice presidential nominee.

So there would be Obama and Richardson at a huge rally in Miami, the world's cameras rolling into cable feed, and Richardson speaking altenately in English and Spanish...

I think the GOP is cooked in Florida and just don't know it yet.

19. It would be interesting...
But I don't think Crist is polling too high these days.. He's done nothing he's promised to do, and now, Florida is in a recession.. That didn't happen under democratic control.. Purely Republican.

23. I would argue the 'snow birds' are McNasty's base--many are New Yorkers who vote overwhelmingly Dem
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 02:41 PM by flpoljunkie
They must, of course, choose which state they will vote in in November--can't vote in both!

We need their votes here in Florida.

16. I'm Worried About Colorado
In swing-state Colorado, the Republican Secretary of State conducted the biggest purge of voters in history, dumping a fifth of all registrations. Guess their color.

This according to Greg Palast, although he doesn't state which election he's referring to. http://www.gregpalast.com/section/articles/

I have e-mailed the SOS of Colorado and asked about the voter purge list and it's availability so voters can clear their names, or whatever in order to vote.

17. please
let us know what they say -- this is total BS. it needs to be in the media and it needs to be remedied ASAP. What a total JOKE. They also need to be brought up on charges by the DoJ (don't choke on the irony) for voter obstruction, disenfranchisement, and fraud. That is what the DoJ is SUPPOSED to be doing with our tax dollars- not chasing down and illegally wire-tapping every democratic representative in the country so they can leak stories of investigations to the press prior to the elections.

this is BS.

Where is our country? or, as mccain would say, where is our cuntry?

I feel a REVOLUTION coming on if they try to steal this one. We have allies in other countries who are just as committed to the idea of "spreading democracy" as we are (oh, where is my air sick bag?). Maybe they can help us? ha ha.

21. Its stupid for either candidate to run ads yet
Obama has already registered more than 100,000 new voters.

I am not counting on Florida but the Republicans are going to have problems in a state they must win.
