Mike Murphy keeps calling McCain the "foreign policy adult"
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 11:04 AM by Wetzelbill
Well Mike, first I have to ask you if you like apples?

Ok, John McCain, the foreign policy adult that he is, once sang "Bomb Iran" to the tune of a Beach Boys song. Really adult of him.

And once, John McCain, foreign policy expert and adult, asserted, with the great certainty and conviction that only an absolute fool can have, that Sunnis and Shiites have no history of violence in Iraq. Which is borderline retarded, if he actually believes it, and a sick lie that helped get lots of good people maimed and killed, if he was just saying it for political purposes.

Although I will agree with you, Mike, it's a really adult thing for a supposed foreign policy expert to believe there is an Iraq-Pakistan border.

But seriously, McCain doesn't know anything about foreign policy. He advocated the worst foreign policy mistake in our history, which is reason enough alone to disqualify him for president.

So how do you like them apples?

2. Old meme trotted out for another go around...
I clearly remember the whole 'let the adults back in the white house' crap on the lips of conservafascists in '00.

Apparently, adult behavior involves secret wars, lying to congress, destruction of the working and middle class economic infrastructure, and CEO worship.

3. Mike is too shrewd by half
They've been practically begging him to come in and fiddle with things on McCain's behalf but he's cagey and seems to know better. Currently, he's well pleased with sitting on the periphery in the cush of a pundit's chair blowing spit-wads somewhere near the scene

8. Michael Murphy
He used to work for McCain in 2000. He's a GOP political operative, he always shows up on Meet the Press and MSNBC shows. Fairly smart guy, knows politics, really a shrewed propagandist, but still kind of your typical well-fed boring white guy Republican who wouldn't know or care about what 99 percent of the country is like.

9. Shifty/beady-eyed, rat-tooth RW mouthpiece from the
teeming heap of vermin spawned by the * campaigns. Somebody who would never have earned a living doing anything else but suck up to the designated alpha male and lie as a vocation.

11. Sorry for being so greedy, but that
SOB just pisses me off. Most of those RW slimeballs they trot out do. Also on my list are that Watkins guy, Rick Davis, and that Brad dufus who Dan Abrams likes to make twitch on his program. Then there is the RW Stepford Women Brigade--Jacobus, that Harris? woman, Lori Pflotsenahmmerorwhateverhernameis, just for starters. Where do they find these people? None of them appear to have ever lived in the real world.

6. AsAs Ed Schultz describes McNasty, he is, not only not an adult, he's a 'warmonger.'
And, kudos to Ed for not backing down on this.

16. In 2000, the Repubs bragged that the adults would be in charge
Look where we are now as opposed to where we were when Clinton left office:

surplus turned into record deficit

job growth turned into job loss

much help from allies (Bosnia) vs reluctant or no help from allies in Iraq

17. A simple way to look at it
Is look at the way Clinton handled the situation in Bosnia, then look at the utter mess Bush made with Iraq. Different situations, for sure, but the general philosophy is the same. You had one where other nations were heavily involved, we put together the Dayton Accords and used diplomacy to come up with a solution, maybe not perfect but it was an overall good solution. Iraq was an exercize in hubris, arrogance, poor planning and, well, terrible everything. That if the military wasn't so powerful and good at what it does, this thing would have been even worse.
