I think it is key to recognize what McCain's campaign is doing and undo it by ignoring at best or parrying with humor as well. Otherwise they win votes by making Obama look uptight and politically correct. Most of the country does not identify with being politically correct, imo.

1. Here is that comment about McCain having a sense of humor

They went there and it was hilarious. If you didn't laugh you are an Obama fanatic. Anyone with a marginal sense of humor laughed. When Moses parted the sea and the Obama presidential seal came out was priceless. And yet these comedians still insist that there is nothing about Obama that can be made fun of. Well, they think Americans are stupid.

McCain is showing humor. While Obama fret, McCain is just enjoying this. It's a winning strategy. Obama has no sense of humor and these ads are a way to show the contrast.

But I say give it a day and the NYT editorial board will find something racist in these ad somewhere. I'm waiting for that. I will die of laughter at that point.

2. McCain is CLUELESS. Every ad his campaign puts out seems more desperate than the last.
(Your concern is duly noted)

9. Exacty. The Dems should run an ad..
showing Ned Beatty squealing like a pig in Deliverance and juxtapose that with McCain. Wouldn't that be funny?...

4. I laughed my ass off!
I couldn't believe anything that lame could come out of what is supposed to be a "presidential campaign".

This can only be topped by a McCain '08" whoopee-cushion.

5. 30,000+ new donors to Obama yesterday alone
Obama is laughing his way to the bank. McCain's attack ads seem to be a giant cash register for the Obama campaign.

10. I'm an "Obama Fanatic" and I laughed
I think the ad was offensive to religious people, but I also thought it was kind of funny. One of my coworkers said "nice ad for Obama".

11. I thought it was funny but this should be left for SNL not a political campaign

that tries to call itself "dignified". I do not know how comparing him to Paris Hilton or Moses is anyway to run an actual campaign.

If McClown wants to play a snarky campaign let him but realize Americans don't want a bad comedian in the WH they want a leader.

12. I laughed and I AM an Obama fanatic, LOL
I think it's just amazingly, shockingly, Fonzi water skiing-INSANE. I mean, it's taking a little while, but I think everyone's eventual reaction is like disbelief. McCain made a joke out of himself. I'm emailing this ad to all my friends, I think it's great...along with the Britney/Paris one it's going to sink McCain. :)

13. I think McLame is getting blowback on these ads from some
big-time GOP supporters. That's why he "making light" of them.

14. Nonsense ...
Elections arent about mirth, they are about issues: Obama is right to smack them down for this childishness ... Obama might use humor to bring them down a notch, but bringing them down a notch is what is called for ..... TWO notches ....

Running a nation is serious business .... Anyone who doesnt think so perhaps shouldnt vote ....
