CNN: Obama too thin?
Oh brother. Apparently some of the email to whomever said something to the effect that Obama needs to put more meat on his bones, and they couldn't possibly vote for someone so thin.

I guess being young and healthy is a bad thing? They elected the jogging, cycling idiot with a horrible sweet tooth (probably dry-drunk urges) once upon a time.

5. I find that interesting. Is it backlash against anti-fat sentiment in the media, perhaps?
Voting against a candidate because of a personal characteristic like weight is a very emotional response. Usually, being heavy is a liability for a politician, which is why you don't see many fat politicians. Add the sexist element and you practically never see a fat woman get very far in politics. Hillary was routinely scorned for her size, even though she's not remotely fat. I guarantee that if Hillary Clinton were the nominee we'd be hearing a nonstop litany about it right now, complete with the concern troll assholes yammering about her "health". And I'm talking about DUers.

9. Not compared to the general population.
Look at most members of Congress and even at your local politicians. Not saying they're all rail thin but you don't see many fat politicians. And the vast majority of the ones you do see are men.
