TAMPA – Tomorrow, Senator Barack Obama will host a town hall meeting in Pinellas County to discuss how the next President will ensure economic security for all working Americans. On Saturday, Senator Obama will address the National Urban League at the 2008 conference in Orlando.
At tomorrow’s town hall in St. Petersburg, Senator Obama will highlight the choice we have on the economy in this election: we can either choose a new direction for our economy, or we can keep doing what we’ve been doing. Senator Obama knows that families need immediate and lasting relief. That’s why he supports a National Catastrophic Insurance Fund that would help all Americans recover from a natural or manmade disaster. He has called for an additional round of rebate checks to jumpstart our economy and help families cope with soaring prices. Senator Obama will make quality health care affordable and accessible for everyone—and he’ll provide a middle class tax cut of $1,000 per family, covering 95 percent of American working people and their families.
