Meanwhile some supporters in Rolla, MO.....

In Rolla: Rednecks for Obama

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0o5zUg_-ec

I know fatalism is more likely to get people's ire up, but I have a theory. I had a great conversation about this recently.
There are a lot more guys like these in the closet than we may realize. Obama has qualities that bring out the testeronic attraction men have to other men. It's what drives young men to put up posters of basketball players, etc.
This does not end at 18 and we may see more male voters on our side than expected in the voting booth.
They may vote for the candidate they ultimately, secretly most want to identify themselves and the country with. They may just want coolness that will turn the U.S. into it's badass self again.

1. Another Redneck for Obama...
Raised in rural Missouri from age 8 to 17.

It isn't simply a matter of crypto homo-eroticism.
It is that strong streak of fairness in the rural
voter causing just a bit more guilt every day.

These folks are so whack because they know they are wrong
and are too invested in being right. They are starting to see
it fall apart, and they wish it could just be someone else's fault.

A winning strategy with these folks is just to keep saying that
the Repubs had eight years, and made a bigger mess than the Dems ever did. They know that down deep, and they hate it.

2. I think the word "attraction" may have been a bad choice
I use that word more neutrally than some people do.
I guess it could also be explained as interest and self-identification\internalization.
Women want to internalize the characteristics of attractive women they see. Same thing.

It goes a step further when you assume will identify a person to represent you. It's not unlike choosing a character to represent oneself for a game.
People choose appearance, and other characteristics based on certain personal preferences.
It's simple phsychological leanings in a direction toward- or attraction.
