Kaine has no better political option.
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 04:04 PM by Perky
He is term limited and the two senate seats will be locked up by Dems.

It is his best option for a continued political career. and he will be 59 in eight years.

He's a pro-life Catholic from a sate turning blue. He has executive experience and would be an ideal choice to succeeed Obama in eight years. He does not have foriegn policy experience or military but big deal that can be blunted by tapping a secretary of State and DOD Secretary earlier in the fall campaign.

1. Kaine wouldn't resign from governor unless Obama won the election
I'm not sure what you're getting at. If he were picked as VP and the ticket lost, Kaine would go back to being governor and Obama would go back to being a senator.

2. I am a little confused by your post

Of all the considerations that would be interest Kaine's personal future is the least of them.

He could always take a cabinet position in an Obama administration

4. It doesnt matter what the best option for Kaine is
It matters if Obama's campaign thinks a potential VP unknown outside his state will be of any help to Obama.
