Guys, do you really want the Obama camp out there whining about McCain...
...The way McCain is whining about Obama?

Look at how pathetic it has left McCain looking.

Look at how the Obama campaign is driving the message, with McCain only getting attention with his obvious cheap shots.

Do you want to risk reversing this by acknowledging McCain is controlling the message with his lies?

The campaign is issuing strongly worded statements, they are going on the "news" shows to correct this BS. But, so far, no whining. And, frankly, I hope it stays that way.

2. No, to whine is a sign of weakness.
I'd be highly disappointed if the campaign lowered itself to McLame's level.

Let him continue to be a pathetic imbecile all by himself. It's unbecoming.

4. Thanks. I'm a little confused by the posters insisting the campaign should be out there...
...well, crying, about this more.

I personally feel that the message about McCain's BS "Obama hates the troops" ad has gotten out there.

6. Whining is bad. They need to defend against it with facts then hopefully
start going on the offensive. Since O would get his hands dirty, it needs to be his surrogates or our fellow Democrats.

3. I don't want whining, but I want a commercial played to EVERYONE
calling McCrabby out for the liar he is. 'Strongly worded statements', played by the m$m? Hahahaha!
They are doing their jobs by forwarding this story; I want the Obama camp to fight back.

7. That's just not Obama's strategy...
To play the back and forth 'he said, she said' politics. They're trying to cage him into acting like "just another politician" with payback attack ads, but he's not biting.

They're desperately trying to get him to lower himself to "just another politician" status because it's really the only chance they've got.

9. Sorry, but there's too much at stake for him not to defend himself.
Sure, I'm all for holding his head high, but I think he needs to slice into anyone or thing that spews lies in his name. Why he doesn't is beyond me. Silence won't convince people; his silence may indicate what's being said is true because he's not disputing it. That could lose this election for him.

19. You and I are on the exact same page (as usual). Silence will cost us the election.
FACTS ONLY- Every time they send out a lie = the Obama Team should respond immediately- with the FACT. They can even quote factcheck.org if necessary-- whatever it takes-- but every McShame Lie should cause a SWIFT Response. No drama, no fuss, no whining-- just the facts. Over and over and over - until they either stop lying or come up with their next tactic (which I'm sure will not take long).

It's got to be the same message over and over-- "Just the Facts".

12. What is Obama's Strategy???
Does he have one?

And who are "they"?

Try to be a bit more specific please.

15. Official campaign ads being "Pro-Obama" and positive...
With the "Anti-McCain", negative stuff left to DNC ads and groups such as Vote Vets, who have this new ad out, for example (saw it on TV this morning)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-HfSY6LEqY

At least that's what I've been able to glean about the strategy thus far.

5. Not whining but SOMEONE needs to introduce the American Public to the real McCain, not the
media created myth.

11. What do you think about this ad...
That I saw here in Philly this morning...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-HfSY6LEqY

This is the way I want it to go down. Let Obama stick to the high-road, with the official campaign ads focusing on introducing him to the country. The anti-McCain stuff should be left to the DNC and groups such as VoteVets.

10. Whining? No. Fact Checking and Directly Attacking the Lies? YOU BET.
In ads, on talk shows, in print- whatever it takes. I want to see every lie immediately debunked in every media outlet available. Immediate, swift and deliberate. If not, we're in for a repeat of 2004.

13. Not only that but
he has to also talk about how "morally disgusting" (and use those or similar words!) it is for the right wing to lie to the American public just to try to win their votes.

16. See, I'm thinking if they start going there, it might be considered to be whining
if done too often (see Mccain's lack of media coverage during Obama's trip).

18. I don't agree- repeated FACTUAL responses over and over- using their playbook
The reason the GOP is so successful with their branding, is because they repeat the message over and over and over- whether it's a talking point, ("McCain is a war hero= period"), a commonly used expression "Pro-Life" (give me a break- EVERYONE is pro-life- not everyone is Pro-Choice), "winning the war" , etc. Over and over until these points stick in the MSM and stick in people's minds. We need to do the same exact thing-- using facts. Over and over- repeating the same facts- same wording over and over again. "Nuanced explanations" (which we democrats are famous for) are lovely- but they don't fly in mainstream America.

14. How do you control what is perceived as "whining"...
Though your goal might just be "fact-checking"?

Just pointing out the potential danger the campaign risks with highlighting McCain's cheapshots.
