3 hour VP meeting between Obama, Caroline Kennedy, David Axelrod, David Plouffe and Eric Holder
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 06:34 PM by Pirate Smile
One long meeting

Avi Zenilman reports that Obama, Caroline Kennedy, David Axelrod, and David Plouffe just left the offices of Covington and Burlington via an exit on E Street.

Plouffe declined to comment on the meeting at the office of vice presidential vetter Eric Holder, which appears to have lasted more than three hours.

edit to add - I think Gibbs is there also. An earlier post is below:

Converging on the beltway

Axelrod, Plouffe, Gibbs, and Obama's vice presidential vetters, all in the same place at the same time, First Read notes, and speculates: "The convergence of all the senior staff here with that search committee only further signals that the process is at a critical stage."

UPDATE: And they're meeting now at Eric Holder's office.

7. Well if it was three hours, I'm sure the decision's been made.
I don't see Obama meeting for three hours on this or any subject without making some kind of decision. He wastes no time.

10. It's like Christmas!! Being excited to open a present even
though you know you're going to be disappointing in what you get. But no...you'll still smile and say thank you and try to appreciate your shitty present to make the giver happy.

Too cynical? Sorry...it's in my nature. ;-)

14. Interesting
I think they're getting prepared just in case McCain announces his VP, so they can balance out the coverage. If McCain doesn't announce before the Olympics, I doubt the Obama camp will.

15. Oh to be a fly on the wall during that meeting.
I'm still betting on an announcement on Friday...just in time for the weekend shows.

16. Friday sucks as an announcement date
that's the take out the trash day when all the little stuff gets announced. If it's not thursday, it'll be Monday or Tuesday.

20. Anybody know Hillary's schedule this week and next week?
I have a gut feeling that it will be Hillary. McNasty cannot say anything negative about Hillary after throwing her bouquets of roses and admiration during the Primary season.
