Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-N.Y.) presidential campaign, thinks that if Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) picks Clinton as his running mate it would trigger a "50-state sweep."

"How do you not ask Hillary Clinton?" McAuliffe asked Monday morning on MSNBC. "We would sweep all across the country.

"If Sen. Obama picks Hillary Clinton, we will win this White House, I believe, in a cakewalk. And I think we'd control this White House for 16 years, which is what it will take to offset the eight years of the Bush administration," McAuliffe said.

McAuliffe said the Obama campaign has "an extensive travel schedule" planned with Clinton that will begin this week. The New York Democrat has not appeared on the campaign trail with Obama since their joint event in Unity, N.H.

Last week, McAuliffe seemed to throw his support behind Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine (D), telling a group that Kaine would be Obama's best choice. McAuliffe again brought up Kaine's name as a possible running mate, but made clear that Clinton is the obvious choice. "It's not even a close call," McAuliffe said.

9. No, they haven't. Polls show her helping him by anywhere from a few points to more than ten.

And that's polls done by three different organizations over a couple of months.

11. I honestly don't think she wants it

I am really torn about HRC as VP, but I honestly doubt she really wants it. It doesn't make sense for her...if she wants to run again in 4 years if he loses, she's better off not being on the ticket, and if Obama wins, she'd have a decent shot challenging his VP for the nomination in 8 years if she stays in the Senate and expands her legislative resume (which is actually not that extensive so far, as far as I can tell).

12. My Take Is Lets See The VP/Surrogates In Action

I understand that Hillary is going to start making the rounds, which is good. Lets see how she does as a pro-Obama surrogate, because the last thing you want to see if Hillary get the VP nod, then have difficulty responding to questions regarding past difference between her and Obama. If anything, I would like to see all of the possible VP candidates out and about more, so that I am not worried that they self-destruct as a surrogate once they get the nod.

24. Why bother?

Some still believe the myth that the extreme right will be galvanized if the dreaded Hillary is on the ticket. Well, if they cruised the Freeper's site and others, they would see that the person who the RW detests far more than the Clintons is our nominee. I almost fell off my chair when I started reading the last few weeks post after post stating that compared to Obama, Hillary wasn't so bad after all. The editors of the NR explained this past weekend that the reason why the RW media had softened up on Hillary was that they thought that she would be more moderate than Obama. So, I don't think more of the RW would come out of the woodwork if she were on the ticket than they would already come out to avoid an Obama victory. The one person who they fear the most as VP is precisely the one person who they have hated all this years, they think that if Hillary were on the ticket there's no way that McCain could win. Ironic, isn't it?

Oh, and one more thing: Nancy, why don't you STFU!!!!!!

I'm starting to despise this woman with a passion!! Between not having the balls to stand up to the Repugs ("impeachment is off the table") and the umpteenth time that she repeats that there won't be a "dream ticket", I feel compelled to go to DC to tear her a new one.
