Media shows its sleazy bias again... Rood vs. Dole.
Yesterday two people, both of whom evoke a sense of high reputability and/or renown, spoke out about the swift boat debacle.

One was William B. Rood, who is now an editor at The Chicago Tribune, a journalist, whose job it is to tell the truth. The other was Bob Dole, former Senator and presidential candidate for the Republican party, whose job never actually required him to tell the truth, but rather, just that he faithfully support his party.

Rood actually served wtih Kerry in Vietnam and had finally had enough of the Swift boat lies, and decided to speak the truth... i.e. that John Kerry's version of the facts is the real truth and that the swifties are lying through their teeth. On the other hand, Dole, who wasn't anywhere near Vietnam, parrots the Swiftboat talking points and opines that Kerry did not deserve his medals, even lying and saying that he won two of the purple hearts in ONE day. Hah!

GUESS WHICH STORY IS PREDOMINANT IN THE MEDIA TODAY!!! Oh, you're too fast for me. Yup, it's "Dole said this, and Dole said that." I haven't heard Rood's name mentioned even ONCE today.

Oh, this is coming from CNN, of course. So, please take a moment and let them know (again, and for what it's worth) that they are egregiously slanting the news, as usual, and that we do not appreciate it. :grr: :argh:

1. dole
THOSE WHO PREY TOGETHER STAY TOGETHER---Dole would not appear to be a man of very deep moral character and that's sort of sad---always looked to him as sort of a military hero--but now we find, he also worships at the ALTAR OF MAMMON

5. Dole impugned all vets
It was a sad day watching a vet pit one another vet against the other about severity of injuries earned while in conflict. Even as he is a partisan hack, I fail to see how he could have said what he did. Politics run in his veins and nothing else matters< I guess. Oh, his first Purple Heart was caused by the same type of wound that he is criticizing not only Kerry but all vets. Boston Globe reported that he got some shrapnel from a grenade thrown by another buddy.

6. Dole was a Vietnam war supporter in Congress in the 60s.
Of course Dole is going to attack Kerry. Kerry attacked Dole and other war supporters in the sixties. Dole was in Congress and a Vietnam war supporter when Kerry was denouncing that war. This is revenge by Dole.

10. Just e-mailed CNN with this...
I have heard Senator Dole's "story"/opinion (from yesterday) about Kerry's Vietnam record on your shows today ad nauseum.

If I recall, also, yesterday, there was another prominent citizen who came out about his DIRECT experience with Mr. Kerry during the Vietnam war. His name is Mr. William B. Rood. He is a journalist of apparent high regard and whose job it is to tell the truth, right?

Why is it that all I have heard today from you is "Bob Dole said this, and Bob Dole said that" about Senator Kerry, and have not heard Mr. Rood's name or story mentioned even once?

Can you tell me with a straight face that your reporting is fair and unbiased? Don't even try. I am truly saddened by the specious journalism that has become the norm for CNN these days and passes for "real" journalism. Please stop it, for crying out loud!

For what it's worth.
