Heard the meme about Obama's overseas trip
the RNC chairman was on the news this morning and commenting on the massive crowds greeting Obama ...

"I would rather have a leader that is respected than adored."

Watch for the phrase this weekend.

1. "Let them hate me, so long as they respect me."
"Let them hate me, so long as they fear me."
Supposedly, Tiberius and Caligula, respectively.

3. Where is the evidence they do not respect Obama?
Or that supporting that they respect McLame?

Hollow meme, one I am sure they will repeat until perception is such.

5. At least he doesn't prefer "feared."
What is wrong with our leader being "adored?" :wtf:

It doesn't mean he is not also "respected."

It doesn't mean that McWar is "respected." I would rather have a leader who is adored than one who is thought of contemptuously.

16. "Respected" is of course code for "feared."
That's exactly what the right wing is trying to hold on to: a fear-based world (easy to maintain and good for business) as opposed to a love-based world (difficult to attain; requires lots of work, hard decisions and adult behavior.)

9. So, they've flip-flopped from the 2000 and 2004 elections, when it was all about adoration
of their messiah president.
