29. By virtue of our history, if not our actions we are the city on a hill
We can choose to be a light for the world, or a darkness, but if the light we give this world is darkness, than that darkness is profound indeed.

A :patriot: for Obama the lamplighter, may we yet again stand as examples to the world.

11. Very impressive,
I'm curious having missed the corporate media network news this evening, how did they show the crowd, with closeups or long panoramic shots?

Thanks for the thread, ProSense.

Kicked and recommended.

14. that's terrible
they are foreigners. Why do we want them to like us. Its our nature to be xenophobic. We were born that way. It can't be helped. We are absolved of all responsibility for leading in the world. It they don't do what we want then they are against us. We are the very core of civilization and must force our will on everything, even inanimate things, which is really frustrating because it's hard to induce fear in a rock. Just blow that fucking rock up, that will teach it. You really think it matters if oil spills in the ocean??? The ocean is HUGE. You ever try to hold back a wave? You can't fight City Hall and the ocean is way bigger than City Hall.

Did you ever have to deal with this kind of mentality within your own family? I guess I should be happy that you get to pick your friends.
-end of rant-

18. damn it all it is a splendid day to be a Democrat.
Thank you, Germany, for coming to lend your ears to Senator Obama, soon to be President Obama.

Thank you, President Obama for all the positive things, plus for not being George W. Bush. Had it been Bush making a speech in Berlin today, the event would have come off quite a bit differently.

Great photos.

19. I didn't get to hear the speech at work...
...my pc has no sound card (bastards!). But I could stream it, and it brought tears to see the waving flags. And tears are coming now looking at these photos.

Simply beautiful.
