How great to see people waving US flags in Europe instead of
burning them like they do for the chimp.

1. That is one image I want independents and liberal repubs to take
away from this speech. All the flags. And that massive cheer that went up when he said he loved America would be the one sound bite I'd want them to hear.

Sure, I'd rather they listened to and watched the entire thing, but if I could pick and choose, those would be the moments.

3. I wonder if some of the folks who complain about non-American flags flown here
will complain about US flags elsewhere.

4. That's a grand question. It's just a guess, mind you, but I'd say...
...no. :)

On the other hand, they think the rest of the would should worship us, so they'd just think it was our due and would conveniently forget all the anti-American protests over the last 7 years.

5. The chimp couldn't even go out in public over there.
He had to stick to military bases or "private" meetings because he would likely cause a riot to break out.

6. You're quite right. Neither McCain nor Bush could have done
this, even if they had wanted to.

7. That's exactly what popped out at me
while looking at photos from the speech. Such a noticeable absence of any images depicting Bush as Hitler! Europe wants to love the US, but it's been impossible to love us since the Bush junta took power. These were welcome photos to my eyes this morning.

8. I think it's sort of the opposite of what his speech was about
Unless the global flag is going to be the stars and stripes.

I don't think anybody in that crowd was thinking about global flags...

10. It sounds like they better start
Everyone should, if that speech is to be heard correctly. No divisions. No walls. No boundaries. A world standing as one. No choice but to unite, as our collective prosperity and security is completely dependent upon that union.

12. Perhaps you need to read a transcript of the speech. Because
it certainly had nothing to do with uniting the entire globe under one flag.
