We bought a house in a residential area of Madison, WI about a year ago (after living near downtown for 12 years) and we've found the neighborhood to be pretty working class, quiet and from what we can tell, fairly un-political (we don't see too many political yard signs or bumper stickers).
My significant other was sitting in our living room this morning drinking his cup of coffee pondering the upcoming day when something kind of amusing happened...amusing to us at least :)
I got out of the shower and heard him say "Huh". I asked him what he was talking about and he told me he saw one of our older (maybe 60ish) neighbors walking his two schnauzers, the guy stopped in front of our house and looked around, kept walking, then stopped again. He looked at my S.O. sitting in the window and pointed at our Obama yard sign and gave him the thumbs up. Nice.
After dropping my S.O. off at work I stopped to get some coffee. As I was pulling around the building to go through the drive-thru I heard someone yelling but didn't think anything of it. Then this guy (who I think has Cerebral Palsy) came walking up in front of my car and was pointing at it (I thought there was something wrong with my car), then he walked around to the back of my car and pointed at my Obama magnet and gave two thumbs up. I gave him the thumbs up back and the biggest smile I could muster.
This started my soon to be boring day off on the right foot. :applause:
I think I'll go make my monthly donation to Obama now...
