"Surgin Joe" is really wound up today
If I talk louder than you and over you, then I must be right. He acts like he is terrified someone will listen to Obama. It was so disgusting this morning I couldn't even make it through the opening segment. And lately they have been having ole mayor "Thug" on for his expert commentary. Thank Gawd for the mute button.

1. Yeah I should not be shocked but the show has become basically
worthy of fox news now.

It literally opened with trashing Obama, CRITICAL of AC360, Olbermann and anyone who spoke about the McCain gaffe.

Back to local morning news for me.

2. He really went off about Olbermann. I was surprised he was so
negative against someone on his own network. I understand they don't agree politically, but I wouldn't think he'd be so vocal against another show on MSNBC.

(He must be soooo jealous and resentful of Keith's popularity and success!) }(

He's being even more of an ass than usual this morning.

8. I missed him defending the McCain gaffe
So, I have to ask, well, which McCain gaffe (there's been, like, seven this week already); and how did Scarborough defend him?

11. McCain claimed that the surge started the Sunni Awakening
Obama said the Sunnie awakening started before the surge. Scarborough admitted that Obama was correct but blasted Olbermann and Anderson Cooper for reporting it as a major gaffe on McCain's part. He said regardless of when the Sunni Awakening started it couldn't have been successful if it were not for the Surge.

He was correct but that was not the point. It was another example of McCain not having his facts straight.

He really blasted Olbermann and Anderson for reporting it. He didn't name names but he said (paraphrase), "some on this network reported this".

It was appalling.

12. Thank you! You know what really gets me...
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 07:22 AM by VolcanoJen
... is the media constantly ignoring and/or defending McCain's repeated gaffes. Like the video on Keith of Katie Couric totally editing McCain's gaffe right out of her interview! Can you imagine if she'd "assisted" Obama in a similar manner? Jonah Goldberg's head would explode!!! TEH LIBRUL MEDIA IZ TOTALY INN TEH TANKE FUR BARAK OSAMA!!11!!

It just blows my mind. Again, try to imagine Joe Scarborough's reaction if it was Barack Obama who claimed that Iraq and Pakistan share a common border, for example. Just close your eyes and think about what he'd be saying today.

14. So true
It's amazing that they can say with a straight face that Obama is getting more favorable coverage. McCain makes a gaffe every week and there are serious issues in his past that is not widely reported.

I was wondering who was going to have a meltdown first, Scarbourough or McCain. They are running neck and neck.

26. What really gets me is
Obama's group ignoring McCain's gaffes. If you and your surrogates are ignoring something, you can't blame the media for also ignoring it. You know McCain and his surrogates would jump all over a major gaffe by Obama. They wouldn't rely on the media.

28. Actually, the media is starting to get on top of it
I think Obama's surrogates are doing a good job of "getting out of the media's way" when it comes to McCain's gaffes. They don't want to appear to be "picking" on ol' gramps... you know how sensitive the MSM is. :-)

4. He may be finally realizing that he sold his soul to the devil . . .
For chump change. And that once the dems sweep up six or seven new senatorial spots in November, they'll kick his quisling ass out of their caucus and yank all his committee assignments.

After which we can all take pleasure in the sight of him wandering the halls of the senate, ignored by senators, operatives, and media alike, and gradually fading to irrelevant transparency.

5. He got busted lying about Obama saying the surge wasn't working..
After they showed the Couric clip, he had to changed his tune and try to spin his way out of it. I've sent three emails already this morning setting him straight.

10. Kind of makes you wonder if the McCain Camp sent out the "Anbar Awakening" talking point...
... in their daily Rovian blast-fax, because it sure looks like Scarbourough got caught red-handed repeating a gaffe. :-)

7. I liked the part where he claimed the "Sunni Awakening" happened because of "teh surge."
He was set straight in an email (was that you, Kahuna??), and rather than admit his glaring error and disinformation campaign, blathered on about how Iraq is like WWII or something.

Flat-out busted, he was. :-)

9. oooooh, what did he say about Anderson and KO???
KO should get Rachel to kick Joe's ass. Just kidding. I don't think I've ever seen KO and Joe interact with each other. When KO was anchoring on the night Tim Russert died, Joe never called in, even though they got most of every other person on the entire planet. And they always seem separated on election night, no? I can't bear to watch Morning Joe anymore, but now I'm really curious! KO should name Joe worst person in the world.

13. I switched to CNN after about two minutes...
less puke-able.

I'm compiling a list of persons to be drafted as war correspondents. Their assignments will be the hot spots in the respective regions. Joe ranks about ninth on my hierarchal list -- O'Reilly and Hannity have the number one and two slots nailed down. Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow are exempt from the draft.

31. He sure does! (rule!)
Loved it!
Joe sucked even more than usual today. He started off first thing this morning being more of an ass than usual. He was particularly snotty, difficult, defensive and arrogant.

He was attacking hosts and bloggers re: Katie Couric/McCain interview and the creative editing they did to conceal McCain's gaffe/fuzzy facts.

He seemed angry, stuttering somewhat, and babbled on and on. This is what I transcribed:

"Let me tell you, and I know a couple of hosts ran this last night, made a huge deal because a liberal blogger picked it up. I will guarantee the host that ran it and were waving their arms, had no idea whether the Sunni awakening or, or, or the surge began at the same time.........They also, anybody that would argue that the Sunni awakening would have survived in Al Anbar province, without the surge... anybody who would make that argument is so ignorant of the facts on the ground in western Iraq, in Al Anbar province, in what the Sunni sheiks were doing throughout 2007, that they are too stupid to be on TV. So I hope they don't carry that argument too much longer because it is laughable."

That's why I was so glad to see the exchange with Wes Clark!

32. They were trying to bail Joe out by cranking up the "go-to-commercial" music.
But Wes just wouldn't give up. And he wouldn't let that asshat Joe Scar talk over him, either.

Joe looked like he was trying his hardest not to resist the primal urge to roll over onto his back and wee himself in the presence of a true alpha male like Wes. :-)

They're not going to get the 'surge worked' shit out of us, the surge had little to do with what is happening in Iraq right now.

Once Scarborough knew Wes Clark had him in a corner, he turned on Clark and tried to make it look like he hated the troops. Uh-huh. General Wes Clark hates the troops. Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

These people are truly sickening, and at their worst and most venemous when caught in outrageous lies.

29. Joe Scar tried to make it sound as though Wes Clark was crediting The Saudis...
... with the success of the "Anbar Awakening." Which, of course, is what actually happened, and Clark was right to point it out to Joe.

But, of course, Joe in turn tried to make Wes Clark (Wes Clark!!!!) sound as if he hated the troops. Good gawd, they're desperate.
