Puke veep noms are rejecting McCain
behind the scenes, goes one account.

I'm willing to believe it.

So free of charge, I'm offering this name to Senator McCain for his vice presidential nominee:

Franklin Graham.

4. Most would, if they had a brain at all. He's a GOP Ahab, and he's heading
right into the whale's domain.

It ain't going to be real pretty down-ballot for a lot of Republicans in the 111th Congress either.

So I'm offering McCain Franklin Graham as his veep nom.

8. Just me. McCain needs a veep. Another post tonight on DU
reports that behind the scenes several of the veep potentials are telling him 'no' so I'm suggesting Franklin Graham free of charge to McCain.

16. Franklin Graham would be a startling, headline-commanding choice
for McCain.

I personally think Franklin Graham is unstable and arguably dangerous, but from McCain's standpoint, FG might be just the uh, ticket.

There's the famous "legendary" Billy Graham -- easily one of the most visible religious entities in U.S. history.

There'd be the extensive connections in North Carolina and other states.

There'd be the "outside-the-box" pretense of choosing a minister.

It would stir the sour blood of a lot of fundies who might otherwise have stayed home.

It would activate some serious donor bases.

It would serve to pander in a huge way to the nutbags who comprise the faith in the GOP faith-based demographic.

It would help McCain pretend that he is once more The Maverick by choosing an unothodox pick for his veep nom.

19. Rev. Moon. My god, whatever happened to him that made him think
people would turn in a mass movement toward his propaganda?

I guess he has some adherents, but that mass movement just never materialized.

I think he was last seen as a guest on HOLLY SQUARES, wasn't he?

21. It's true. It's hard for me to imagine why the fundies don't like McCain,
considering how conservative McCain's voting record really is, but Jesse Helms, a dead guy, could make McCain look vibrant.
