Bush distancing himself from Scumboat Vets for Truth on Fox
As the honeypie moderator raises the Rood article in today's Tribune, the assumption was that the Scumboat Vets had smeared Kerry--and the Bushite simply tried to distance Bush! I say, make every Bushite say yea or nay to whether they condemn these ads. Make every Bushite defend them or join in denouncing them.

1. I don't have cable! Dammit!
What did this person say to distance Bush? Was it effective?

2. I don't think so, but I am happy that is the ONLY issue about these ads
He said Bush honors Kerry's vietnam service, and denounces ALL soft money ads--and said nothing to support either the truth of the ads or the right of scumboat vets. The issue wasn't that the ads were false.

And of course, the democrat was able to repeat all the ties between the scumboat vets and the Bush campaign.

The amazing part was that on Fox, the moderator started with the Rood article proving Kerry's worth for the silver star--and the assumptin that the only issue was what Bush should do about it.

3. I don't know. I think maybe Josh Marshall is right on this.
We sound like little kids saying " mommy make him stop " if we keep insisting they denounce. We should just state the fact they stand with these scumbags. I think this tactic will be more effective now that the swiftliars are getting pilloried by the mainstream press.

4. Don't disagree.
I don't think they are asking Bush to make it stop. They are asking him if he has the fortitude to denounce lies and dirty tricks and stand up for what is right. It is showing America what is important to Bush: having let someone else fight his dirty little war in Iraq, and having let someone else fight in Vietnam, is he letting someone else smear Kerry for him?

6. I agree with what they are asking him to do but to keep asking
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 03:14 PM by Kerryfan
him to do it seems a little whiney. I think it is better to state the fact that he had his chance so he now stands with the Scumvets. The opportunity for him to do it is past. He can now be judged for not doing it. I think that tactic accomplishes the same thing but makes our side look more like we have won the issue already.

5. Stay On This...Stay On This...
Two messages have to get up and out and often...

Attacking Kerry is attacking ALL Vietnam Veterans and all who have earned medals.

Bunnypants avoided serving and now is hiding behind others to do his dirty work.

The path is set to expose this fraud's evil network...let's not "sissy" out on this one. Destroy is and take a major chunk out of this boy's teflon.
