They love the guy! You good just see the respect and the admiration they have for him in their body language and actions. It makes me proud.

They will finally know that there is someone that will think about them and their families. And the country would have to be under dire threats before he would ask them to serve 3 or 4 tours of duty. They will finally have a Commander-in-Chief that will respect them in return. He will not send them into harms way unless it is absolutely necessary. It will be his last option, not his first. This is the video that McCain and the Repubs do not want the corporate media to show to the people back home. It shows a leader with compassion and humanity.

(edited to clarify tour remarks)

2. Didn't he make two consecutive 3 point shots?
Both from very far away?

3. It was sweet !
But he was not cocky. He was his cautious self even before he shot - but he was confident. He turned around and said, "Now, I may not make this first shot...".........But he did. :-)

4. This man is the real deal, but lose this:
"before he asks them to serve 3 and 4 tours of duty."

That is not his solution but part of the problem. Read up. He really does have compassion and humanity, and why is that so unusual in anyone? Perceptions of what's good or great now hopefully hasn't been erased or NOT acknowledged.

5. Like no presidential event I've seen in decades...
Beyond the supportive cheers and smile of the troops, I was struck by the lack of pretentious staging of the event.

Ordinarily the president or VIP would be at a dais, on a platform or in some other position of superiority and dominance, surrounded by secret security or MPs, and/or treated in other special ways.

Not Obama, he seemed very humble, he recognizes that these soldiers are the special ones.

He's down on the floor with them, no special detail, just like he's one of them.

That really struck me.

How refreshing!

8. Bush wouldn't dare mingle with the troops like that
And I've heard from the mouths of some of them why. They really despise him.

9. That's a fact.
And Bush is just too good for them, especially if the racial mix is so different from his usual mix of friends.

10. He didn't need a backdrop of flags and a slogan.
He had the faces of those amazing U.S. troops (who looked very happy and proud).

This is the way it SHOULD BE.

6. Right.
It also will have an influence on the "military families" in the US.

7. Well I know my soldier likes him
and considering that he is not yet CIC, they certainly seemed to treat him as one.

It is some great video! :bounce:
