2. The difference between the two
All the records point to almost everything that Kerry and his men claim being true.

Bush's records, what have been found, barely confirm that he even existed. However, in true Repuke accounting fashion, he was paid . . .

(In accounting, aren't phantom employees illegal?)

9. A federal employee that receives a paycheck and doesn't do the
work could be charged with theft of federal funds.

3. Haven't really been watching
any of the am shows. I just can't take it but did catch some just flipping channels. Unbelievable. Someone on Reliable Sources actually said that the moveon ads didn't even produce any of the people that * served with in TANG. Isn't that something we would all like to see, someone he served with. And as far as comparing negative ads most of the negative ads about * are about his policies which have produced negative results. What are we supposed to say about them, they have been bad policies for the country. He created the deficits, he did nothing about Heath Care etc. and we're supposed to what say? They draw no distinction and parrot the GOP talking points.

4. Yeah. Pretending they're both slanders. Cute.
So George, list the medals YOU earned.

5. Which Means, Sir
That discussion of the dismal record of the reigning usurper is commenced in the dominant media. That attack on Sen. Kerry's heroic service has opened the gates, and loosed the dogs of war.

Anyone who was alive at that time knows young men schemed to get into the National Guard as a means of avoiding combat where all else failed. It is clear that the wretch from Midland got into a unit through favoritism. It is clear he did not fulfill even his limited service obligation: it is clear he absented himself from duty, and very likely that he failed, or forfeited, a drug test. Our own Mr. Walt Starr seems to have established he has been photographed wearing medals he was not actually awarded.

All of these things illustrate character; in this case, an exceptionally low and repellent character. Character, the sense of what a person is worth, is the leading determinant for most people in choosing who to vote for. Issues, dear as they are to the politically engaged, mean very little to most people.

"He ain't worth a pound of piss!"

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

13. We're Not Quite There Yet...
At least now the two military "records" are being compared. A week ago, it was purely Kerry...and did he lie about his medals. Now it's "what's true about Kerry"...(a far better place to be) and manchild's military non-service. The echo is getting a little louder with each debunk of the Kerry lies and a bigger focus is made on putting the same measure to Bunnypant's records. It's moving very slow, but it's moving.

Also getting thrown into the mix is Chenney's chickenshitting during 'Nam (which should continue as long as he shoots his evil mouth off...this seems to be shutting him up) and anyone else who dare try to get into this slime. They now enter at their own peril.

I hope a meme develops where these attacks on Kerry are an attack on all Vietnam veterans and politically connected to this regime. If that sticks then the door opens wide to demanding answers and accountability from this regime...removing the teflon you and I so hope can be destroyed.

Cheers!

6. Why Kerry's record is getting any airtime is beyond me
In response to ANY attacks regarding his service, Kerry needs to simply look boldly into the camera and say: "I served my country when it needed me. I can't say the same thing about my opponent."

Please - there is just no comparison.

8. Great line. I wish he would use it and then go on
about campaign business of telling the electorate what he will try to do to bring our country back to civilization.

7. They also equate the Swiftboat Vets to others 527's, like MoveOn.org
Ludicrous comparisons, I know. But it's more of that "soft bigotry of low expectations" that Bush has enjoyed for so long.

11. Yes, one is true and one is false. That does make a difference...
It's nota question of how much time was spent on one or the other. Anyway, if as much time had been spent on the AWOL story, Bush would have already resigned by now and the nation would be better off for it.
