Kerry Petition - Reopen the WH Women's Office
When Bush took office in 2001 he dissolved this critical resource for women.
Let's act now: If you agree that this door of communication should never have been closed and that women's voices must be heard, join John Kerry and call on President Bush to reopen the White House Women's Office- before January 2005!
Act now - sign our online petition by clicking here to fill out a short form. http://petition.johnkerry.com/women/

Women for Kerry is proud to launch Women's Voices on the Trail, the only national outreach initiative for women being promoted by a candidate for President. Women's Voices on the Trail will enable women across the country to have access to influence policy and mobilize voters in support of John Kerry.

John Kerry and his supporters will be kicking off WVOT Monday with a series of nationwide events.

Host Your Own Roundtable Discussion
On January 10th, women across the country will come together to discuss the key issues affecting women and how the next President of the United States can best address them.
Invite your mother, sisters, friends, coworkers and neighbors to join a roundtable - and then send your comments to WVOT@johnkerry.com. Download the Women's kit on the right to get started!

Tell JK About the Issues that Matter to You!
Send your comments to WVOT@johnkerry.com. We'll collect them and present them to our Women for Kerry Steering committee. Remember- your voice counts!

1. Womens Voices chat this afternoon
On Monday, January 5, we're kicking off Women's Voices on the Trail - the only national outreach initiative for women promoted by a Presidential candidate - with a series of special events focusing on women's issues.

Join us online at 5:00 pm Eastern, for a live online chat with Vanessa Kerry. A 3rd year Medical student, Vanessa has been on the trail, stumping for her father. She'll share her insight on how to organize women for Kerry, and her thoughts on the role of women's issues during the 2004 Elections.

To log on to the chat, visit http://www.johnkerry.com/chat.

3. That makes me scream!
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 01:33 PM by MaineDem
That attitude just makes me furious.

When I was in high school I had a bookmark that said "A woman's place is in the House and the Senate." Now I'd add "and the White House" but the sentiment is the same. Women make up half the population; shouldn't they make up half the elected representation?

I was never cut out to be a Stepford wife! :D

4. good for kerry
JK really is the best choice for Women. He's always been a strong feminist and advocate of issues that are important - right to choose, environment, and education.

Go JK!

6. Yes. He actually marched with women's groups in the early 70s.
When he was running the prosecutor's office in Mass. he hired almost all women and minority lawyers to fill the positions available.

The man is a beacon.

12. Sponsored domestic violence legislation
The legislation that created so many shelters, hot lines, and other tools to help abused women. Also one of the first rape victims units in prosecutor's offices back in the 80's. He has done so much for so many, it's a shame so many can just turn their backs on it all as if none of it ever happened or even mattered.

8. This makes me want to start a thread asking: "Laura is to Hillary like...
_____ is to _____."

But I would probably get banned! :-)
