MSNBC: Relax, media Obama bashing is just a figment of your imagination.
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 07:42 AM by Skwmom
From the land of the utterly absurd:

Don't fret, the media bashing of Obama is all a figment of your imagination. The media LOVES Obama and has fallen out of love with poor McCain. I guess I was just imagining Harwood saying the other day "That's why we LOVE McCain" and Chuckie T gushing over McCain saying maybe we can kill people with cigarettes (and that's why we'd all like to invite the lovable old guy over for dinner). And all of those unending slams against Obama, well... obviously we were mistaken. They love the rock star candidate. The cartoon video showing McCain as tough on national security and Obama as a unicorn loving Obambi, well... I'm sure they were just trying to change the polling results which show more people trust McCain as commander-in-chief. Obama is so LUCKY to have the media on his side.

And how could I miss MSNBC hiring DLC Harold Ford. Ford is working overtime trying to make sure that Obama has the support of his base by painting him as a DLC candidate. MSNBC should give him a pay raise for the great job he is doing promoting the media darling.

Of course, they took Jon Stewart on for not being tough enough on Obama. Before, I would have wondered if it's "let's goad others into attacking Obama, otherwise, you're not doing your journalistic job." Of course I must be wrong b/c they love rock star Obama (who is all rock star, unicorns and rainbows). Hmmm.. I thought the Daily Show was a comedy show.

We as a nation are SO FORTUNATE to have people like Joe and Mika, oozing with journalistic integrity, and so dedicated to their country that they are willing to put their own careers on the line to tell us the hard truths about our candidates.

And how can I forget to thank Chuckie T for telling me that Obama is all unicorn and rainbows who is just too darn naive to understand that change is going to be difficult and he will take office and be a disaster. You are SUCH a patriot and such a journalist! Keep it up and you too may someday have a highway named after you, your own show, or even (GASP) the millions upon millions paid to Rush Limbaugh.

I have to remember to tell this to the grocery clerk when I go shopping next week. She said that she was following the race closely b/c of Obama but has had to turn off the cable news shows because the Obama "love fest" displayed by the media "professionals" was upsetting her young son. Silly her, she just doesn't understand, it's all a figment of her son's imagination.

With such journalistic patriots like these, who always put their country first, I just don't understand how America can be in such trouble. Oh wait, I forgot, things are great, all of that other stuff is just a figment of my imagination.

1. They haven't got Hillary Clinton to kick around any more. Besides, Matthews LOVES Obama and McCain

and Olbermann will say whatever he has to to get Obama elected.

5. Well I guess all of those Hillary supporters who thanked Joe and Pat Buchanan
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 07:54 AM by Skwmom
for their SUPPORT of Hillary had it wrong. And CNN doing such things as running a health care crisis in America segment, always ending with a clip of Clinton attacking Obama, and the constant free playing of Clinton's attack ads against Obama, and the constant replaying of debate clips with candidate attacking Obama (with no clip showing Obama's response) was just a figment of my imagination.

2. This must be the new thing the RW is pushing -
I saw an op-ed on Sunday in the Hartford Courant saying that exact same thing: how the media has fallen out of love with McCain.

I'm still waiting for actual evidence of it, though.

6. They are pushing it b/c they want to paint Obama as the corporate, establishment candidate.
Plus, since most people don't like the media (they probably rate lower than used car salesmen) by painting Obama as the darling of the media they hope it will benefit McCain.

3. yeah, I was laughing when they were talking to the writer from New York magazine
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 07:59 AM by ErinBerin84
and he was saying that John McCain is jealous of the press' "free pass" of Obama, while they are giving McCain a hard time. And when the writer also said that the McCain camp knew they couldn't compete with Obama's "rock star" image, Mika snapped "Well, according to the closeness of the last couple of polls (?), McCain CAN compete with it!"

Yeah, the unicorn thing was stupid. I'm sure I'll be disappointed when Obama takes office since he has such a mess to clean up. I know it won't be a millionth of the disappointment I could have when McCain starts fucking up the presidency, I don't think it's naive to think that. And they constantly whine (heh, nations of whiners!) about the emails they receive of people criticizing them, but they say that Obama supporters can't take criticism? It goes both ways, assholes. And fuck Joe Scarborough "Oh, these latest poll numbers show that African Americans hate McCain.." Well, maybe they just like Obama, it's not ALL about hating McCain...though I blame no one for that.

7. Obama should do a campaign ad showing the Obama bash fest and the McCain love fest.
He needs to go on the offense with the media. Trying to play nice won't work.

8. I know that Morning Joe was extra bad today when there are three separate threads in
the general discussion forum talking about today's show, haha.

4. We Americans are very imaginative.
First we think the economy is on the brink of a serious crisis then the bush and Graham explain our flights of fancy. Now we think Obama is hated by corporate media and corporate media explains away this imaginary concern. We ar just so imaginative.

10. the Morning Joe poll spin is always the best
they hardly ever mention the national lead that Obama has in the polls, is it just me? I wouldn't even know the national lead unless I read it on the internet.

Yesterday, all they talked about with the poll was the "Commander in Chief" gap in the ABC/Washington Post poll
Today, it was ALL about the "racial divide" of the NYT poll.

As Wonkette puts it (before linking to the NYT "Poll racial divide" stupid story)
"How can Barack Obama be elected president when he can’t even solve a simple issue like America’s 400-year-old race problem?"
and in the next sentence " Obama’s inability to deliver wide-scale racial transcendence has translated to … a 7-point lead in the latest Reuters poll"

11. When are we going to hear about
McCain's problem with the youth vote, or why he's only getting 1% of the black vote when Bush got around 10% and about 10% of African-American voters are Republican?
