Screw the NYer - Let's Talk About the ASSOCIATED PRESS DC BUREAU CHIEF LICKING ROVE'S BOOTS!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/14/aps-ron-fournier-to-karl_n_112696.html

Rove exchanged e-mails about Pat Tillman with Associated Press reporter Ron Fournier, under the subject line "H-E-R-O." In response to Mr. Fournier's e-mail, Mr. Rove asked, "How does our country continue to produce men and women like this," to which Mr. Fournier replied, "The Lord creates men and women like this all over the world. But only the great and free countries allow them to flourish. Keep up the fight."

2. it explains a lot, actually
The AP's White House correspondent is considered the most important reporter in America. If the person in that role is an ideologue or corrupted, well...we see the results of that every day. Someone ought to check to see if Fournier is living above his means.

3. See, now *this* ought to be a cover story.
Intended satire that has nothing to do with the story and manages to piss off half your own readers, not so much.

4. I don't know what part of this story is more...
interesting, the personal philosophical interaction between these two that definitely crosses the journalistic line on fournier's part or this seemingly psychological need for "heroes" at every turn with these people.

5. AP and Rove as well as these "journalists" all mirror each other.

No one should be surprised at any of this but what is a bit surprising is that this got out in the open.

We need to let more cats out the bag.
