The reason I ask is I've already read last week Condi stating over in the middle east that the US. may get a message from Iran in the form of a mushroom cloud.

2. Evidence seems to be pointing that way.
To do so, Bush will have to start withdrawing troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, which will weaken Obama's challenge to McCain about ending the wars. If Obama wins in November, then they can attack Iran and declare martial law. Or they can attack Iran before the November election claiming some Gulf of Tonkin like incident to invade and McCain can claim he is the national security candidate. If he loses anyway, then they can still declare martial law. Okay my :tinfoilhat: is really getting tight here, I know, but the story teller in my soul loves to speculate on the possibilities particularly when it comes to this scurrilous administration and their neo-con bobbing head who are running the Republican Party.

3. What is it with that lady and "mushroom clouds". Is she recycling
her lines from 2002-2004?

5. it's not possible to overestimate them
if they think a new code red terror alert with help them, the sure enough they will use it. And, the signals we are now reading point to it happening.

6. I'm more expecting some kind of event at home that will enable them to cancel
the election and declare martial law. In fact, I'll be surprised if it DOESN'T happen.

7. that would send oil prices into the stratosphere and the stock market and U.S. dollar into free fall
and it would happen immediately. Not what the Republicans would want on election day.

By the end of November gasoline and heating prices for the winter weather would at least have doubled or tripled beyond their current projections, which are already skyrocketing.

By inauguration day, America and the world would have fallen into a long and deep depression at least on par with the 1930's.

I would certainly hope that even the crazed neocons are not so insane especially considering that it would likely collapse the Republican Party especially if it did some how succeed as an election day tactic.

8. Well, they are cornered rats, and will do just about anything to save
their rotting hides.

The possibility of prosecution for war crimes under a Democratic administration must be a concern to those "things".

9. My wife and I were talking about this last night...
she thinks that by this point, Bush is apathetic, and doesn't even like McCain enough to do something like that, and that even if he did, the opposition to it would actually help Obama. It could also be that Republicans in some way want Obama to inherit the huge mess they've created, that they've set him up for failure so to speak, thereby discrediting Democrats for generations. At the same time, it is entirely possible for them to try something; I would not at all be surprised if--at the least--we had some terror alerts and saber rattling.

13. Your wife is right on some accounts ...
Bush is apathetic ... The little puke has long ago lost how he got off on the entire world having to bow down to him, aSWnd as much as they shield him from it, he has seen enough that people hate his guts ... Never could stick with anything else in his life, this is not different ...

Also, you are right that they would not go out of their way to help McCain ... McCain is their bwitch, they disdain and look down on him ...

Also, they sure as heck do see the upside in BO and the dems being blamed for the mess they made ... Give them a couple years out of power, and if things start to look up and people get apethetic, they will be in the box where this all started - the lunatic fringe with simplistic ideas taking shots at the government they can't live without ...

However ... What could override all of that is that Cheney is criminally insane, and for these lunatics, the thought process that if they don't attack Iran Obamo won't could very override any level of reason ...
