Bernie Mac = Big Mistake Obama needs vacation, rest
Where's that competent, disciplined Obama campaign we saw during the primaries?

It was poor judgment to invite Bernie Mac to introduce the senator at a fundraiser. A joke about an 8-year-old and whores is in very poor taste. If I'd been there, I would have walked out and requested my donation be returned.

The Bernie Mac trash, with Obama's too-cute half-rebuke, makes me angry. I thought Obama understood he needs to increase his vote and support among women, not alienate them. Including the women, like me, who've been his supporters for months. It's damage repair time, for real.

The decision to hold Obama's acceptance speech at a football stadium appears to be a very expensive move, with a bonus of poor acoustics.

On TV, will a crowd of 75,000 really look and sound that different from a crowd of 15,000? Is it worth the money, when the convention committee doesn't have enough to pay the bills now? I don't think so, myself.

I worry that the Obama campaign is acting punch drunk with money. Kind of like the Clinton campaign in Iowa. :)

Allowing his daughters to be interviewed was an unwise decision, in my opinion, but his immediate disavowal and disingenuous explanation that he didn't think it would get so much attention, made it worse.

Senator Obama and his advisors need to reduce their schedules to allow them to get 8 hours of sleep per night. The unhealthy hours they are keeping are not good for them or the voters.

More appropriate for that kind of humor.

10. Thanks for your concern however,
When Obama starts blowing money on 4 star hotels for jr staff, millions a month on a donut eating fat pollster, and cheese plates you let me know and than you can make your comparison to the Hillary campaign.

BTW this week McCain said that Social Security is a disgrace, he doesn't know where he stands on birth control (not abortion the pill and other forms of contraception), and his chief economic advisor called people who are struggling whiners.

Nice to see where your focus is.

17. Concern is noted
Meanwhile Phil Gramm is telling us we are whiners and imagining $4.10 gas. As well as the record number of foreclosures and rising unemployment.

But by all means, lets focus on a short-sighted decision made by Obama's campaign

23. Comments noted but a couple of points. First Bernie mac's
brand of humor is well known. My understanding is that the fundraisers notified guests that Bernie Mac would be in attendance. Bernie probably assumed that everyone know what he did for a living. Second, Bernie Mac needs to police himself--sometimes these entertainers go off the beaten path. Obama should not be blamed for this--other than taking more time to select "safe" entertainers that wont offend those in attendance.

24. I don't know
about the Bernie Mac thing.

But putting his daughters in front of the cameras one time I think was a double-bonus. Showed them to be a real, human family on the one hand, and gave him the opportunity to be a protective father on the other.

The huge stadium is likely a logistical and security nightmare, but will be a huge presence on t.v. Yes, 75,000 will look, sound and feel a lot different than 15,000. Even on t.v.

Has he made a couple slips? -- sure. He's human. He's allowed to. But certainly nothing on the order of calling homeless people who've lost everything a bunch of whiners, while simultaneously denigrating people with clinical depression (e.g. brain chemistry imbalances).

I agree he hasn't done much to impress as far as his record with women -- not many on his staff, and they're paid less as usual. On the other hand, he's keeping his nose out of my uterus and he hasn't abandoned his crippled, no longer beautiful wife to become a fancy gigolo to a trophy wife.

25. A Dangerfield re-tread. Obama just has to throw a few more profile blacks under the bus.
Time is running short. We all deep down know exactly what Jesse Jackson was talking about and it didn't start with Obama's speech to the evangelical church the other day.
