It finally happened..some jerk stole my Obama Sticker off my car.

It was on my window in the back. I noticed it gone as I was pumping gas tonight. It either happened in my neighborhood or at the grocery store. It was there just yesterday. Damn, I feel violated and PISSED. Do they make any sticker that I can stick inside my window?

Again,

3. No, I gave my other one to my daughter
She offered it to me, but I told her naw, it's her first 'rodeo' this election year, and I'm sure I can pick up more locally here.
Scotch tape is a good idea. :hi:

2. Just get some of that clear mailing tape
and tape a regular bumper sticker inside your window.

I used to have a sticker that read "thanks for nothing bush" - it was scratched off my car, I think by the guys at the mechanics but I'm not sure.

:hi:

6. Be careful with that - it can hurt any defroster wires and some window tinting.
I know from experience.

But, if you stay clear of that, it works great! :D

4. I put my stickers (two) on a sheet of magnetic material.
They're on my car when I drive and in my purse or inside the car when I park. I also have an Obama sign in my car - that goes up in a window when I'm parked for a while.

You can get the magnetic sheets at any crafts or sewing supply store (Michaels, JoAnns, etc.)

7. Obama needs to make exploding stickers
Edited on Sun Jul-13-08 12:30 AM by krispos42
Once a few freepers have missing fingers, maybe they'll leave them along!

They make plastic sleeves that you stick inside of your window. You can just slide your sticker in there with the backing still on it.

Check it out...

8. What gets me is that I would never think of doing something like that
to another's vehicle. I wonder if Rush and the gang encourages that crap.

Very cool idea at the link, I only wish I hadn't been so trusting to leave it on the outside. Ah well, live and learn.

16. Totally OT, but your idea reminded me of something funny.
My father-in-law lives out in the sticks and he has had problems with the local yokels playing "mailbox baseball." After having lost several mailboxes, he decided he had had enough. He took his mailbox down and poured wet cement into it, filling it entirely full. After it had dried to concrete, he returned the mailbox to its original spot. The next "batter up" got a nasty surprise.

I like the way he thinks.

20. Have you ever grabbed a stinging nettle plant?
I did one day when I was weeding and it felt like my hand was on fire. I think something like that would be better...
Or that new weapon the army won't take in Iraq that causes pain and makes people back away without inflicting damage.
Or one that starts screaming at the person...
Or injects some serum that makes them vote for Obama...

I have to go build these

I've never in my life defaced or stolen another person's property simply because I disagreed with their politics. But some neocons -- and, in my case (I live in WV), ignorant rednecks -- think nothing of trespassing and stealing in order to silence other people's voices. It's shameful.

I've had similar problems. In an earlier post today, I mentioned that some of my family members had pasted a Rush Limbaugh sticker over my Obama sticker as a "joke." (I told them to go F themselves.) I was able to salvage my Obama sticker, only to find out that my Obama yard sign was stolen while I was on vacation. The sign had been trampled once, about a week or so ago, but I bent it back into shape and put it back up. But now it's simply disappeared. (For the record, my relatives didn't have anything to do with the sign. I live an hour away from them and the bumper sticker incident occurred while my car was parked at my parents' house.)

This has only served to make me more determined. I'm going to stock up on yard signs and order some bumper stickers in bulk. That way, the next time someone steals or destroys my property, I'll be able to replace it immediately.

11. Scotch-tape the next one inside the window. Use a side window if the back one gets obscured...
Some of those back windows don't have any visibility to spare.

You can be assured that it will take more than a casual act of petty vandalism to remove a sticker from inside your window. The vast majority of people would never actually break someone's window.

You can change your stickers around that way, and you can also remove them when you take your car to your excellent but conservative mechanic, and you can remove them when parking someplace where you don't know what kind of reception you opinions will get.

I've done it for years.

Hekate

19. Go to a sign company
And have them cut up their magnetic sign material into bumper sticker sizes, put the bumper stickers on the magnetic material, and then put both on your car. When you park, pop your trunk and pull them off and thrown them. You'll not damage your resale value, and it will keep jerks from stealing your stickers or worse, vandalizing your car.

25. Was it an easy off sticker?
If not, this would have taken some time to remove, and some Goo Gone...if it was a regular sticker, then I am suggesting it was removed in your driveway by a CLOSE neighbor who planned it enough to get some sticky remover and a scraper of some type.

Or do you have sticky remnant or the white backing stll on?

26. It happened to me in 2004. 2 of my Kerry stickers got ripped off my back window in the parking lot
of the school I was attending. They were easy to replace, but it still made me very angry that somebody would vandalize my property like that. Isn't it interesting how they don't say a word to our faces, yet they go after bumper stickers when we're not around.
