http://www.cnn.com/

caption includes: "This is a moment of truth for George W. Bush. We're gonna see what kind of man he is and what kind of leader he is," Edwards said while campaigning in Virginia.

Edwards has thrown down the gauntlet...The press HAS to get a response from Chimpy

2. This is great!
The KE team is showing cajones by not letting this slide. I am so pleased to see dems fighting back instead of taking the high road and being nice. Fight fire with fire.

14. I can't even get to it when I click on what appears to be a link to it.
Instead, I get, "Bush adviser quits after appearing in swift boat ad."
They have links that look like they go to the Edwards story in several places, but they all take me to the above story.
Uh... Are they trying to tell me how innocent they think Bush is? Is this why they send me to the wrong link? How very Rovian.

16. Even a search on CNN for everything "John Edwards" does not find it.
I find that weird. Do they frequently erase stories that way?

4. Not surprisingly, the link for that story doesn't go to the right story.
CNN is run by assholes.

5. I just have to say that this is brilliant. Bush wants those adds. But now
Edwards has framed this as, "if Bush can't stop people from lying, then what kind of moral authority does he have?" It's now a an issue of ethics AND competence and Bush will look like an empty suit with no principles if he can't make the swift boat liars stop.

9. That is a good article...
It even talks about how the Swifties are taking Kerry's 1971 comments out of context and using them in their latest ad.

Also check this CBS headline:

Big Backing For Kerry In Ad Wars
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/08/19/politics/main637003.shtml

I think there has been a shift in the media. Now the Swift Boat Liars have become the focus of controversy. Kerry's legal action was a great move. Even though the evidence is circumstantial, many people can see that BushCo is behide the liars.

18. Media Seemed very Pro-Kerry in yesterday's Charlotte Observer
Don't know if that's a left-leaning paper or not but the editorials were chock full of stories/letters about the SBLiars...

With O'Neill saying, "We're not questioning Rood's commendation." (Yeah? Somehow, all these guys who were WITH Kerry, like Thurlow and Rood, deserve medals, but Kerry doesn't.) And "It's an obvious political move." (IE, but Smearboat Vets are not politically motivated?)

11. Keep banging on it
Why, Mr. President? Why are you allowing these scurrilous charges to be made? Why don't you stand up for fairness and decency? Your press secretary said you could end these ads tomorrow if you wanted to. Why haven't you done it? Or was Jesus talking about you in Matthew 12:26?

17. Will Teresa Heinz's $$$ soon enter the picture?
Kerry is quoted in that article as saying that they are now going after him "personally." Didn't THK say that her fortune would not be used unless Kerry, her family, or she were personally attacked?

I would just LOVE to see that door opened.
