3. No Way In Hell that chickenshit will show his face. He'll get booed out
of Greece!! Maybe half of the american athletes would cheer him, but the rest, plus the fans and athletes from other countries will boo him to the point that the games will have to be halted until that asshole is removed.

And the Iraqi athletes will be leading the boo's.

4. Does anyone else get the impression that
Bush likes Iraq more than America? He goes to the Olympics to see their soccer team, not any of our athletes, he spends billions of dollars in Iraq when America nees new schools, roads, health care, etc. I wish he would pay some attention to our country.

7. I'm shocked Drudge is reporting this
fact is, it's not much of a surprise anymore. I'd figure Drudge and the FOX crew would just sit on the story and act all surprised at the end just to maximize Bush's popularity bump like with the rubber turkey fiasco.

8. These desperate acts by Desperate neocons are getting
curiouser and curiouser!

Guess they haven't read the article in Sports Illustrated where the Iraqi soccer player asks bush how he could meet his maker when he's killed thousands of Iraqis.

And this soccer playing Iraqi would be fighting the Americans if he weren't playing soccer.

to go Cheney himself.

11. Make sure Bush reads this shit
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 09:17 PM by wndycty
-snip-
"Iraq as a team does not want Mr. Bush to use us for the presidential campaign," Sadir told SI.com through a translator, speaking calmly and directly. "He can find another way to advertise himself."

Ahmed Manajid , who played as a midfielder on Wednesday, had an even stronger response when asked about Bush's TV advertisement. "How will he meet his god having slaughtered so many men and women?" Manajid told me. "He has committed so many crimes."
-snip-

But they also find it offensive that Bush is using Iraq for his own gain when they do not support his administration's actions. "My problems are not with the American people," says Iraqi soccer coach Adnan Hamad . "They are with what America has done in Iraq: destroy everything. The American army has killed so many people in Iraq. What is freedom when I go to the stadium and there are shootings on the road?"
-snip-

"I want the violence and the war to go away from the city," says Sadir, 21. "We don't wish for the presence of Americans in our country. We want them to go away."

Manajid, 22, who nearly scored his own goal with a driven header on Wednesday, hails from the city of Fallujah. He says coalition forces killed Manajid's cousin, Omar Jabbar al-Aziz , who was fighting as an insurgent, and several of his friends. In fact, Manajid says, if he were not playing soccer he would "for sure" be fighting as part of the resistance.

"I want to defend my home. If a stranger invades America and the people resist, does that mean they are terrorists?" Manajid says. "Everyone has been labeled a terrorist. These are all lies. Fallujah people are some of the best people in Iraq."

14. He won't go for two reasons:
1) all the media will immediately report those remarks by the Iraq soccer coach and the players, etc. Called "backfire" and
2) he's afraid he'd get his butt blown off. He could run in to Iraq with a plastic turkey in the dark of night for a couple hours with the whole damn armn around him. In Greece, he would have the citizens from every country trying to get their hands on him. What would they do---empty out the whole arena so that Hitler could watch his team?? Having a soccer ball stuffed up one's ass is not comfortable (oh, I forgot, they would have the trouble maker Iraqis in jail somewhere and substitute people who wave and cry and yell "God Bless George Bush" wouldn't they??

26. I'm sure if they do it - it would be a private meeting...not a public one
in the arena. They're not that stupid. Then again...

soldiers' lives, and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians. Come to think of it, I'm SURE it was worth it!

17. I don't buy it..
.. Drudge is lapping up the milk from Karl Rove lately. Bush sent his family to the Olympics. He's too chicken shit to get out in the world, he'd rather send his family if it's too dangerous. There's no way.. WTF would he gain?? Would the Iraqi players get "teary eyed" and becomed "charmed" by Bush.. when he tells them.. "GOD BLESS YOU MY SON", like he did in that wacked out, preplanned bus visit in Ohio??? They'll spit in his face.. that's what the Iraqis will do.. they are NOT able to be coerced and bought like the rest of the photo op victims.

19. This is great!
If he goes to Athens, a. the objections to his exploitation of them by the Iraqi team becomes a major story, b. the USOC complaint about his using their name in his ad becomes a big story, and c. millions of Americans will say "What the...? The president of the USA goes to Olympics to honor athletes from other countries, not our American athletes.

OR...

This is a trial balloon that will go flat, and he will look like he was chickenshit to go.

Another lose-lose situation for the idiot-in-chief.

22. so the plan is to go to the Olympics and then dramatically
fly back to the US in time for his convention. But I believe the risks outweight the PR gains. I have no doubt that Bush would be booed by the crowd.
