4. I dont think we should hate Bush or McCain.

I vehemently disagree with their policies and hopes for the country, but assume they are probabaly decent people you might want to have a beer with. (Old NASCAR addage- "I'd run him into the wall but that doesn't mean I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.") The country would be better off if we could return to the sort of politics where Reagan and O'neil could argue all day and then have a scotch in the evening.

In the same light, and a disagreement I have with so many at DU, I don't LOVE Obama or any other candidate. My interest is policies and the direction of the country. When Obama is right on policy I will vocally support him. When he is wrong he will get an ear full. I will vote for him because he wants to take the country in a direction far more consistent with what I would prefer, and far better then the opposition.

Love and Hate should not come into it.
