MSNBC Article On McCain - Free Pass On Moving To The Center
Edited on Mon Jul-07-08 02:11 PM by Median Democrat
Here is the MSM at it again. After spending last week repeating GOP talking points about Obama moving to the center, MSNBC notes that John McCain is moving to the center, but gives him a free pass. Instead of saying that he has "shifted his rhetoric" or "flip flopped," the article merely notes that McCain is emphasizing the moderate positions he's taken in the past? (what are they?). Also, because the RW is described as opposing him, the MSM portrays McCain as a Maverick.

When a Democrat appeals to the center, he is calculating and abandoning his base. When a Republican does so, he is a Maverick. The McCain free ride continues.

1. Sickening. But then, we knew this would happen no matter who our nominee was.

2. i told a bunch of friends of mine something the other night...
which my wife informed me was 180 degrees opposite of something i said a couple of weeks ago...

i can't really say i changed my position...but i CAN say that i had consumed quite a few beers at the beach (among other things) and so i can neither be held accountable for my current statements...nor the previous ones for that matter...

We now have Rachel Maddow comparing Obama to George Bush's "compassionate conservative" meme. And the left-blogosphere also buying into the rhetoric. And yet, nothing...absolutely NOTHING about the long, varied list of McM$M's major flip-flops. It's so maddening. If Obama loses this election, he'll not only have the Repukes and the M$M to thank. We should also thank many on the left who will never be pleased with any Democratic candidate if that candidate is not purely ideological. We are very adept at trashing our own; meanwhile, the Repukes are lining up to support their candidate, flaws and all. :(

5. That's why we don't win often. We don't know how.
We only know how to protest about
everything and anything,
because that is what we are used to doing.

Obama represents change,
but some of us Activist,
want everything to change,
while we stay the same.
