Andre Heinz to Highlight KerryEdwards Commitment to the Environment; During TwoDay Trip to Battleground State of Oregon
8/20/2004 3:45:00 PM
Andre Heinz, stepson of Democratic Presidential Nominee John Kerry, will visit with Oregon voters this weekend. Throughout his two-day trip he will discuss John Kerry's commitment to the environment, including clean air and water.
Andre will join Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) on the bank of the Willamette River to highlight John Kerry's "Restore America's Waters" campaign, which works with states to protect our nation's water resources. The Willamette River has been labeled a national superfund site and has suffered as a result of the environmental rollbacks of the current administration. On Saturday afternoon, Heinz will visit the Grand Ronde Reservation for the Annual Pow Wow which welcomes over 15,000 Native Americans from across the country annually.
Andre has spent the last decade helping to preserve the environment through his work with organizations like Campus Green Vote and The Natural Step. He is committed to raising awareness about the benefits of green architecture and will spend the next few months of the campaign speaking about the environment and visiting with voters across the country on behalf of John Kerry.
