Hear it for yourself, listen closely as the video starts. Bob Schieffer of "Face the Nation" quotes Lieberman saying 'Barack Obama is better qualified to be President than Barack Obama'.

I watched the Wesley Clark part, where the moderator made the gaffe, but it wasn't clear if Lieberman made that gaffe too.

And given the way he said it, I think he even knew he'd made an error but for some reason didn't stop and correct himself. Clark kept going as if he knew what was trying to be said.

That moderator really sucked, especially with Tim Russert in the forefront of the minds of many. He started off with a stupid gaffe. He didn't bother correcting it and Clark probably chalked it up to incompetent journalism and ignored it. Also, he hadn't done any homework on Clark. That was one of Clark's easiest interviews in quite a while. It was easy to predict, because it always goes something like:

Clark: McCain is "untested" and "unproven".
Interviewer: But he's a war hero.
Clark: That doesn't mean he's qualified to be President, though I respect his service. He hasn't made the big decisions involving the military before.
Interviewer: But can't I say the same thing about Obama?
*Interviewer pats himself on the back, praising his quick wit*
*Clark smiles because the interviewer just fell into his trapdoor that leads to a checkmate in this argument.
Clark: Obama isn't running on his military policy credentials like McCain. Obama is running on his judgment.
Interviewer: *Stupidity pause* Then tries to change the subject once they realize their ass was handed to them. :rofl:

It was kind of amazing that Schieffer let Lieberman spout lots of lies uninterrupted (e.g., paraphrasing, "Iraq would be in chaos if we followed Obama's plan"), but then when Clark comes on it's time to start interrupting and defending John McCain. I'm glad he did it because I knew Clark was already prepared for that crap, but it was a much more defensive interview than what Lieberman was given.
