230 years of White Rule in the USA.....Its Time for a minority at the Helm..
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 08:32 PM by opihimoimoi
Is this Logical?

Reasonable?

Common Sense?

Fair?

Plausible?

On the surface its bigotry/racist but when viewed with the above in mind perhaps not.

Its Time for a Hispanic, Oriental, Black, Brown, etc to be considered for their respective abilities....

Obama fits the bill...

He wants a go at the Oval and I feel he should be afforded that op.....

edit: Even Rome had Black Emperors...several of them...

1. a million years of testosterone at the helm
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 08:35 PM by pitohui
it's time for estrogen

you see the difference? if you make the argument in favor of a woman, then it falls down because we as a people won't tolerate a woman in charge because we truly hate our mothers that much

we need to make the argument for obama on the grounds that he is better qualified (hasn't obviously had a stroke or other symptom of senile dementia, it's clear to anyone with eyes that mccain is ill)

our man is better

if we have to make the argument on the grounds of "our man is browner" we're gonna lose because people are still just as sexist and racist as they ever were, this primary proved it

rome's black emperors weren't elected, THEY TOOK IT BY FORCE OF ARMS if i'm not mistaken?

4. I didn't realize Rome had black emperors
I cringe at the reference though to Rome, because I see the USA as close to the same. Whenever it's one country vs. the world, the world always wins. Hitler never thought that his invincible Tiger tanks and their blitzkreig military tactics would be obliterated by the 'subhuman' Russians and their T-34s. I doubt that the citizens of the Soviet Union watching the launch of Sputnik would have envisioned their empire coming crashing down around them in their lifetime only a few decades later. Time for America to wisen up and stop believing that we're preordained to rule the world through military force when China has $1 trillion of US treasury notes, Israel thinks they have US military power on-demand, and OPEC controls this world's most valued natural resource.

background goes, just so long as it is someone like Barack who represents important change that we so desperately need.

3. I think we need to take race out of it, and this comment doesn't do it.
Any race, any age, any gender can be a fuck-up.

5. Obama's primary fight is for the middle class, not the poor
It's clear that his priority is to rebuild a middle class in America, trumping what most other black political leaders like to do which is only advocate for the poor and severely disenfranchised.

7. So if Allen Keyes had the nomination against Kucinich we should vote Keyes?
Because "It's time for a minority"? This is ridiculous thinking.

8. I feel that having someone other than a white male in the position
would speak volumes about this country and how we have overcome longstanding bigotry and prejudice. On the other hand, I don't think that just because one is a something other than a white male they have more of a right to the office.

12. Its time for us to elect a good and intelligent American.
Obama appears to have those qualities much more so than McCain. That is why I will vote for him.

14. what a very occidental thing to say lol

by the way the word "Asian" is not an indigienous term in any "Asian" language

and all of the "Asian" languages have a term for "European" (all white western folks) that we do not have (except for the academic Occidental).

Thais - Farang

Chinese Kwailow

etc.

21. idiotic
We don't have a white male we have George Bush.

This essentialist thinking is ridiculous.

Tt like saying something really stupid such as something beginning with - look at Zimbabwe/ Mugabe... (you get the mindless drift of where that goes.)

22. There's something else. Even more important.
All the US presidents. Every single last one of them.
They have all been
American. And I think it is high time we stopped looking to the great satan for our masters and leaders. Time for change. Real change we can believe in. Time for hope. Enough of all the tired old answers and solutions. Look what they has brought us! George Bush is American. Enough is enough.
