For Obama supporters who want to help Hillary pay off debt
Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 08:40 PM by democrattotheend
I am not encouraging or discouraging anyone from doing this...it's a personal choice. I have not made up my mind yet about whether I will.

But for those who do want to, may I suggest that you end your donation with $1.07, as a symbol of the 107 votes they each got in unity. So, make the donation $11.07, $21.07, $107, etc. If enough of us do that hopefully they will figure out that the money is coming from Obama supporters.

Also, try using this url: https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/form.html?sc=3&from=obamasupporters

Hopefully her web staff will notice the source code when they track contributions.

One of the main things that has held me back from donating is the fact that if I do donate I want Obama to get credit for it, and I want her campaign to know that I am doing it in the spirit of party unity, following the example my candidate set last night (if not the amount - I haven't even given him that much!)

What do you guys think?

1. Also, use this url
https://contribute.hillaryclinton.com/form.html?sc=3&from=obamasupporters

Note that that's an address I made up, not a special page her web team put up. But they probably track donations by source code, so hopefully it will get noticed.

Also, consider adding $1.07 to the end of whatever amount you were going to give, in honor of the 107 votes they each received in Unity, NH.

2. WHY would anyone give anything to her?
Not bashing her, but with the countless impoverished people in the world and thousands of charities, why not give to them instead? They deserve your money much more than a very wealthy person that happens to be in debt.

Again, not bashing her, but why would anyone blow their money like that instead of giving to legitimate causes?

3. obama's pretty well-off, too
and lots of people contribute to him.

They're political donations - not charities.

7. Nothing
so what?

If you don't want to give her anything, don't. But don't act stupid and pretend you don't know why she's trying to raise money.

15. I know why she's trying to raise money
She didn't have the foresight to not loan her campaign about $12 million to run attack ads on Obama.

18. Evidently you don't know
She has not asked for any help in paying back her personal loans to the campaign.

And she was running against him. He was running against her. It's called a campaign. You should get over it.

12. I appreciate what you're doing, and I dismiss your critics here.
Your effort to help Hillary is not diminished by your desire for Obama donors to be identifiable.

The Hillary Clinton campaign has already paid Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates $13,962,190 in 2008, yet she owes him another $4,612,431.61, according to the latest FEC report.
