Bloomberg: I won’t be VP for McCain or Obama
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told an audience in Boca Raton Friday that he would not be a vice presidential candidate for either John McCain or Barak Obama.

“A vice president’s job is to go to funerals and stand in at events where the president can’t go,” the Big Apple’s chief executive said at a breakfast event sponsored by the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and the Jewish Community Relations Council.

“It adds a little luster to the podium,” he said, adding: “I think most vice presidents are selected on the basis of whether they can deliver home state and electoral votes.”

He said if either of the presidential hopefuls calls him, “I can give them some names.”

6. GloriaSmith: No sh*t Sherlock
I don't recall either of the candidates talking about Bloomberg as a possibility. I hate that it takes just one pundit thinking stupid thoughts out loud for people like Bloomberg to put out statements like this.

9. In Bloomberg's defense
He managed to con large swaths of the commentariat into believing that a man with the ethos of a Bond villain was exactly what America was looking for; or, anyone who can pull an act like that deserves certain delusions of grandeur.
