LOL! Bush Claims Kerry will drive up gas prices!!!!
http://georgewbush.com/Calculator/

Here's his calculator for how much Kerry's alleged "gas tax" would cost us.

Considering that gas is up about 60 cents a gallon here in SF since Clinton left office...

At least a gas tax might have funded a highway project or something. The extra money from Bush's "gas tax" only enriches his oil company cronies and murderous Saudi sheikhs...

5. You must not drive much.
Even mine was over 60 bucks, and I drive an econobox in a city with lots of transit options...

2. For goodness sake, how much lying can they get away with.
the gas tax is a complete and utter lie, their only proof is something he said in 1994 suggesting it might be a good idea

3. Is that the tax he supported like ten fucking years ago?
I know they were accusing him of supporting a gas tax, and the bill in question was over a decade old. You remember, back when gasoline could sometimes be had for under a buck a gallon?

Really, though, does Bush think that rising gas prices are a WINNING issue for him?

9. Let's see if Kerry is elected
gas prices will rise
the budget deficit will rise
employment will decrease
We will be bogged down in Iraq
the cost of living will rise

hmm, don't we have all of this under Bush already? I guess I'm willing to give Kerry a chance.

10. He Should Know!
Except for Nixon, nobody else has presided over such a large increase in total fuel costs. So, i guess that makes Li'l Georgie an expert in this field, huh?

11. You are certainly on the right track ....
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 03:41 PM by Trajan
The GOP 'hate' big government .... so they claim we are overtaxed, and that if we gave them the reins of government: they would reduce taxes, and all of us citizens will be relieved of the onerous tax burden ...

Yet: when they take control of government: they reduce taxes ON THEIR FRIENDS, and then let their friends use the resources of the nation to enrich themselves by forming anti-competitive corporate structures, monopolistic and all-encumbering, which use every device to gouge and inflate their own prices, wiping out BY FAR any 'gains' that would have been seen by reducing the tax burden through tax cuts ...

Case in point: Enron, which benefitted MIGHTILY by efforts within the GOP congressional caucus to reduce oversight and taxation of their particular transaction vehicles, after which they were permitted by the GOP to RAMP UP prices in fraudulent schemes to game the market ... While the GOP WH sat back and blamed the 'leftist treehuggers' for the problems in the power markets ...

Now we all know: We were right: THEY were wrong ...

They were LYING ... and we knew it ...

They are lying now ....

Imagine that ....

12. So should Kerry play footsies with Bandar too?
Maybe Kerry could hold hands with SA and frolick at some ranch in TX. Maybe that would help.
