BoatVet ad is working: We're all talking about it.
Think about it. As a deflection from any POLICY THOUGHTS...America is talking about tv ads and and Kerry is on the fucking Defensive.

3. But what are the overall numbers?
Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 06:49 PM by lancdem
Did they release those?

This is the way it's going to be till November. Bush has nothing to run on, so it will be smear after smear against Kerry. Be prepared.

4. I think it's really bad for Kerry. IT JUST RAISES QUESTIONS.
The press has already give bush* a pass on his service. Some shit sticks whether it's pure fantasy or not.

5. Kerry's new ad
http://www.johnkerry.com/tv/

it's great

"The Kerry-Edwards campaign released this new television ad to set the record straight, featuring former Green Beret Lt. Jim Rassmann testifying to John Kerry's heroic and honorable service in Vietnam. "

9. good response, but a response nonetheless . . .
which means that BushCo is setting the agenda for the campaign . . . Kerry needs to get out in front and start forcing Bush to respond . . . the issues on which Bush is vulnerable are endless, but they're not going to have any play in the campaign unless Kerry brings them up . . . some that I'd like to see include . . .

- calling the Bush administration an environmental disaster

- noting that the use of depleted uranium weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan is against international law

- saying that some of Bush's actions that violate international or United States law may be impeachable offenses

and if he doesn't like any of these, there are about a thousand others that could be equally compelling . . . the point is that Kerry has to be the one making the waves . . . right now he's trying to ride Bush's waves, and that's not good . . .

13. THEY'RE setting the agenda
BINGO!

that was my biggest fear with john kerry being the nominee, that he'd let bushco set the parameters.

i hope this isn't some of what's more to come.

8. We should be talking about the recovery that has gone bust, and Iraq
which is in flames.

I agree this is the thugs trying their hardest to get the message away from the future and hurt Kerry. But I hope it backfires on the punks.

20. That Was Mr. Olyphant, Sir
A fellow after my own heart, in many respects, and an excellent man with a razor in this sort of thing. It was an elegant exercise indeed, and the liar O/Niel probably does not realize quite how bad he as made to look....

"Rover was killed by a Pontiac, and it was done with such grace and artistry, witnesses awarded the driver both ears and the tail...."

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

18. my post yesterday,
i listened to 3 vets today, a 20 something a 30 something and one in his 50's at lunch in the smoking patio

all three, to a man, spoke out loud and clear in a crowd at work that the ScumBoatVets for Bush were disrespecting all veterans with their lies. One guy said "if they doubt Kerry's medals, what about mine?"

heheheeh I just stood back and shook my head in amazed consternation at what those "damn Bushguys" were doing

I couldn't have done it better if I'd a planned it that way
:smoke:

Sure at first it'll play well for the Bushbots, but when it comes out that these are LIES and they are TRASHING a decorated WAR HERO, people will be disgusted. ;)

adding to OUR OWN VOTER REVOLT (we will vote in historic numbers to remove the busheviks) ... only anecdotal experiences, but these swift liars are mobilizing the living beejeepers out of vets IN FAVOR of Kerry; YEA! Bring that ON!

14. Yes, you are right.

and the sad truth is that America would rather talk about
this shit than policy.

Blame the education, blame the media, blame the short attention
spans, but the truth is that the country would rather see a
"Jerry Springer" campaign (complete with one liner put downs),
than a measured policy debate.

And the sooner Kerry gets down in the mud with Bush, the better
his chances. It will turn off Dems like us, and Republicans like
David Gergen, it it's now required to win. Willie Brown said
it best on the Hardball tonight... Kerry would make a great
president, but he may not be the best candidate for this type
of dirty pool politics.

17. The American people love Arnold - one liners from movies, no policy
Empty suits who are entertaining is what many of the American people seem to want.

More education money to the states, please!
