"Just hang in there..."
That's what the Congress says to us. It'll be over in 7 months. And we will have a new government. Is that good enough for you? Do you want to "hang in there" and hope there is not another blunder of immense tragedy? Can we really afford to hang in there? What if another war is started by Bush and Cheney? What if it spreads out of control? What do we do then?

We know what they are capable of doing. We have seen their lies and incompetence for 7 plus years now. Why can't we get rid of them before something else happens that we will all live to regret? Why should we be forced to live with this unpredictable anxiety? Just hang in there is not an acceptable solution.

1. There's a reason impeachment has been off the table
Impeachment is politically impossible due to the required number of votes in the Senate to convict.

It was a non-starter.

Justice will be served, but only so long as Obama is elected. His Justice Departmenmt can go after the criminals and make them pay for their crimes.

If McCain is elected, the crooks win.

2. "Why can't we get rid of them?"
Because it takes 67 votes to convict. Tell me which 16 Republicans are going to vote to convict. Actually, no--make it 17, since we know Lieberman ain't voting to convict. Tell me which 17 Republicans are going to vote to convict.

5. I understand that we don't have the votes to convict.
But we do have the votes to impeach. What good would that do? Perhaps none? But perhaps it would keep them occupied for seven months? I do not think it is wise to leave them to their own devices.

6. "But perhaps it would keep them occupied for seven months?"
If by "them" you mean "the Democratic Congress," then yes. If by "them" you mean "the Bush White House," then not really. They don't have to do shit to avoid conviction. Hell, they'd probably appreciate the newfound relevance; I'm sure it's been months since anyone's showed up to the Rose Garden with a camera.

7. You may be right.
But the least they could do is start investigating all these crimes and coverups. Or do you think there is nothing we can do except "just hang in there"?

3. I hope someone takes the nuclear 'button' away from Pres. Bush.
I don't trust him with it, or our military.

Hop in - Let's roll!
