A couple Embarrassing items in McCain's Past.....
Edited on Sat Jun-14-08 10:47 AM by RazBerryBeret
there are lots, but these two are kinda funny:

1. When he graduated from Annapolis, there were 899 Midshipmen in his class. Ensign John McCain graduated 894th ---- 5th from the bottom.

2. When he became a Navy jet pilot, you're normally allowed to ditch just one of those multi-million dollar jets in the drink. McCain put, count 'em, THREE of them into the drink. Even by an average accountant's reckoning, and let's assume that the CPA is a Republican, that's up to 100 million tax payer bucks down the drain.

Not much of an over-achiever, huh?

combine that with ditching your former model wife after she's in a life-threatening accident that changes her appearance, have an affair with an heiress, while you're on 100% disability from the military, getting social security AND holding down a job as a senator....

what a winner!!!

29. One of the accidents was a terrible fire on an aircraft carrier that some
far right wingers have tried to stick on him but it appears to be his bad luck - wrong place wrong time.

3. McCain is not that impressive. Being a POW was his best career move, though awful/unintentional.
He really skated on that for almost 40 years now. Nothing about him suggests high intellect, competence, or the ability to achieve on his own--he needed his (Admiral) Dad, his heiress mistress/wife and his father-in-law, his cronies on Capitol Hill helping an old war hero out. Compare his life to Obama's--Obama is the bootstrap guy.

11. As far as I remember, campaign finance reform and immigration reform.
And Commerce Committee stuff, and the anti-torture bill that he has since turned his back on. I don't know that he was a true leader on anything besides CFR, and even that was grandstanding.

finance deal. Hell, he has NO leg up. All those YEARS of experience mean nothing. But,
it is a good meme for their side. O's got to crack it open

23. don't forget, it was BAD to torture him, not BAD to torture the others
now. he is fighting the viet nam war here. he believed that civilians and the people lost the war, not the military and if we just allow the military to go on willy nilly, we will win this war. He's psycho.

26. Yep--I agree. He's psycho. He thinks we shoulda coulda woulda won Vietnam--
if only that DAMN CIVILIAN government and its stupid and reckless control of the military didn't pull the plug before we reached our orgasm of glorious victory there. That's what he thinks about Iraq, too.

24. Probably won't happen.
It hasn't happened yet. You can be sure his handlers are telling him every day to be mindful of his temper.
On the other hand, Olbermann had a great bit the other day about Cavuto (I think it was Cavuto) who now says he wants Mccain to show his temper because it will scare dictators!! What a fox twit.

6. Ha ! I have to wonder if all the holy-roller repukes could hear
him call his wife a trollop and a c&%t - would they still vote for him? wish they
had that on film. What a total creep. I don't care how mad my husband is with me - he
would never in a million years call me that.

I have really changed my opinion of him. I now think he is a crotchety, creepy, stupid old man.
And - my biggest pet peeve is that no one asks him how he can pay for the war, given his tax
cuts. Biggest elephant in the room. And like someone else said, no one could think it possible,
but AssHat is actually smarter than McCain !

a quote from a witness
Patane Joseph M.
Service Dates=4/65 to 9/68

I served aboard Forrestal at the time of the fire aboard ship while attached to fighter squadron eleven out of Oceana Va. It just so happend that I was working on the flight deck at the time of the fire onthe flight deck, if it wasn't for this I believe in all honesty that I would have been killed with the 80 0r 90 some of my shipmates caught in their bunks asleep, I also believe that I wouldn't be able to say I saw what started the fire to begin with, and that's why I was put back on forrestal when she came home from PI ON her way back to Norfolk Va. McCain keeps blaming my squadron for this fire, when in all actuality, it was a fuel leak off his center line tank, and the ships power cords used to supply the electrial to turn up our craft, not VF-11 SHOOTION a missle acrost the flight deck as we we blamed for, and still are to this day,and if able I would tell Senator McCain what a lier he really is.

I'm sure that Annapolis isn't easy by any means but damn. Let's face it, the man is not that sharp nor does he have a sparkling wit. You'd think the GOP would want someone who would not so closely resemble the current buffoon in office.

25. I know. I think I'll tape them for when I want
to have a good laugh in the future.

To get a "C", you pretty much spend little to no time studying. Just show up to class, turn in crap work and don't study for tests. So either they really were/are stupid, or just lazy.
