The comments are not good. WTF is really going on with the Clinton campaign? They allow people to messages urging others to vote for McCain? WTF?

:wtf:

They should just shut down the stupid website already. It's been a cesspool for months now.

7. They do -- they deleted my pro-unity comments
I logged on and congratulated Hillary on her speech on Saturday, and thanked her for calling for Democratic unity. THAT one got deleted.

24. Women have been calling Thom Hartman complaining about how
their positive messages about unity and voting for Obama are not showing up or being deleted. This is the Clinton campaign. I do not trust that woman...at all!! They are praising Obama to our faces and stabbing him in the back behind closed doors!

18. People often just use feelings over reason.
Who am I to say which is right but I would think that the make up of what she thinks would pass on to Obama. When I hear these things I just know that feelings get in the way. I also thought I could never vote for Hillary if she took out Obama. I felt so mad at what she was doing to him. It would have been silly to vote out a Dem. for being mad.

8. On the official Hillary website?
If it's on one of those troll sites, then it can be dismissed as just random morons. But if these comments remain on a moderated official blog, then the implication is that the campaign (if not Hillary herself) endorses the comments. And to allow such statements to remain on her official site after Hillary has told her supporters to support the nominee, is completely irresponsible.

Pete, if you're reading this, you gotta wipe that shit. Seriously, dude.

4. Bunch of nutbags. She made this happen though
I entirely blame her and her campaign. This is why she should have dropped out when she lost a few months ago.

Disgusting. If McBush wins I hope that each and every one of these people have THEIR children sent to Iraq. I hope THEIR jobs get outsourced. I hope THEIR water gives THEM cancer, and I hope THEY suffer every possible horrible effect of a McBush administration.

Unfortunately I know that it will be all of US who suffer.

10. Sloppy and unprofessional. Just another indicator of why she lost.
There's no excuse for that blog. Even the most well-moderated blog will let a few inappropriate messages slip through, but page after page of freeperish vitriol indicates that there is no control over that site.

And I doubt that it would be so great on the Obama blog right now if he had lost.

17. The Obama blog is moderated.
I know for a fact they have staffers monitoring it 24 hours a day.

I didn't log onto the Hillary blog until fairly recently, but something tells me I could go back several months and find a plethora of offensive posts. Face it, there was never much discipline and organization in that operation.

15. There's a bit of history to that ...

I personally think the entire comment thread should be nuked, so I'm not defending it. But ...

A DUer brought this to the groups attention the day of the speech. It had 1800 comments at the time, and it was clear that about half a dozen posters, all with *very* similar writing styles, some using the exact same phrasings, mis-spellings, etc., were responsible for at least half of what was on there. Less than an hour later, a thousand of those comments had been purged entirely, and the total number of comments in the thread hasn't actually increased since then. A few new ones have been added, more deleted, but on the whole, the thing seems shut down.

The worst offenders were originally complaining about it on a thread that popped up the next day, and then those comments got deleted ... or at least some of 'em did.

Not sure, of course, what all is going on, but I wanted to mention that.

16. I've sent messages
to them twice. I was going to post a 'thank you' to Hillary for her speech, but I refuse to step into that snake pit only to be slithered at by McCain supporters, and Obama trashers.

So I sent them 2 messages, and pointed out that the media is reading this, and it's adding fuel to the "disunity" fire.

But alas...

Anyway, the message page is here: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/help/contact/
(I chose tech issues in the drop down)

If enough of us message them maybe they will clean it up.

Maybe...

A day or two after her concession speech the mods over there had stopped allowing any posts criticizing Obama or pro-McCain posts. The old ones are still there. Check the newest blog. It's clean.

the blog the OP linked to.

I think quite a few people (including me) wrote to the site asking the moderators to take after their candidate and support Obama.

They finally started filtering the crazies.

38. Actually, look more closely, it has changed.
http://blog.hillaryclinton.com/blog/main/2008/06/07/162034#view_comments

Scroll to the last comment, it's positive. And, that blog locked a couple days ago on that positive comment.

Up until two days ago, there was nothing but "McCain 2008 - Hillary 2012" and "NObama" comments, along with lots of links to pumapac and other anti-obama sites.

But, interestingly, many of the repeat offenders have disappeared and new users are appearing, and the general tone has been more balanced.

I believe that changes in moderation policy have been instituted.

They still, however, haven't posted anything I've written, which tells me it was a manipulated forum all along, and that all the vitriolic comments were moderated IN, while anything sane was moderated OUT.

And I was pissed, and still am, that it was run that way (but not surprised).
